Provides seat protection from dirty shoes

This car seat protector can offer some protection from dirty kid shoes scuffing up the lower part of your back seat, but it's not perfect. This car seat protector comes as one piece that arrives in a simple plastic sleeve. There are no instructions. You are supposed to insert this "tab" part of the protector in between the top and bottom parts of your car's rear seat. Then you have to position it so you can install a car seat on top of it. It will allow you to install a seat using the seat belt or the latch system. There are a couple things to note. The protector is mostly stable, but there is a chance it could cause a car seat to slip a little more in an accident. So I don't recommend you install it while your child is facing backwards as it doesn't offer any protection for the car. I mostly recommend if you are using it with a forward-facing car seat where the kid's feet hang off the side of the car seat and scuff up the bottom part of the rear car seat/bench. That's when the protector actually does something. Beyond that, I recommend that you use it with a car seat that still has a back to it (not a simple booster seat), with a strap that goes over the back of the car's rear seat, between the headrest posts, and latches on to the back-side of the car's rear seat back. This way the baby car seat will be as stable as possible to negate any potential slippage from the mat underneath. There are a couple mesh pouches on the bottom part of this protector, but they don't make much sense. What are you going to put in those mesh pouches? And that's the whole point of the protector...to prevent dirty kid shoes from scuffing up the bottom side of the rear car bench. So then the kid's shoes are just going to get whatever you have in those mesh pouches incredibly dirty. It doesn't make sense. I'm not using those mesh pouches for anything. So there is some value in this type of car seat protector, but I think it's mostly for ages 4-7 when you are probably using those little kid seats that still have a back and can still use the latch system with that extra strap that goes over the car's seat through the headrest posts to secure the kid seat to the car tighter.

Only Partial Prrotection for Infant Car Seats

The bases for rear facing car seats hit too high on the seat for it to protect the back of the seat. But this provides excellent protection for the bottom of the seat under the car seat. Will be more handy when my child is ready for front facing seat.

This is really meant for a forward-facing car seat

We needed a second seat protector for a second vehicle and while I thought this would be fine, I'm probably going to put it in storage until my little one is able to transition to a forward-facing seat. The back of it doesn't even extend high enough to protect the leather seat from where the infant seat touches the leather. However, it does look like it'll be really nice to use once we're forward-facing because it has great pockets down the front bottom that will be handy for keeping things accessible to adults but not the kids, without needing to keep the diaper bag in the front.

Pros: Breathable Anti-Slip Design Easy To Install Extra Storage Durable Easy To Clean Wear Resistant Waterproof Surface Cons: - None What you get in the package: 1 x TAPHA Car Seat Protector This TAPHA Car Seat Protector product is roughly 37.3” x 17”. What I liked about this product is that it does have some nice qualities from the padding to the anti slip to the durability. This pad really helps to protect your leather seats from indentions and wear for the car seat. It has a decent style and design. The pad fit nicely in the back seat to serve as a pad between the leather seat and the car seat. The foot print is perfect for the car seat and allows better protection than the towel we had been using. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. All in all, for what we are using it for .. it works well and provides a nice layer to protect our leather seats. It is working as intended and I have had no issues so far. Great for forward facing car seats, not for rear facing

Still slightly works for rear facing seats, but doesn’t provide any protection where it touches the seat back. Works great with forward facing.

Easy to Install, Good Fit for Narrow Seats

Got this product to help protect the backseat area that a very mess child occupies and creates havoc on, on a daily basis. Nice, sturdy material with a great color scheme of black with silver lining. Easy to install and keep in place, with a small flap that tucks neatly into groove at back of seat. Conforms perfectly with a vehicle with small back seats. Small mesh pouch in front is a nice touch; good for small items to be stored away, when not in use. Great design, quality material and with the ability to mold to smaller seating. Would purchase again in the future, for other vehicles.

It does what it's supposed to do.

Arrived fast, packed in sealed plastic wrap. Honestly, there is no need for directions. It's big enough to give full coverage under any child's car seat. Just put the seat over it and buckle it in as usual.. It seems strong and solid and looks to last a long time. For twenty bucks it's a bargain for protecting the back seats in my car.
