Feels kind of silly to be reviewing something so simple and relatively inexpensive, but we did not receive the items shown. We got a small package of a few brass thumbtacks, but instead of having a single solid head, like those shown in the picture, the tacks we got are made from a small brad that has a tack head stamped around the top. In other words, you can see the head of the brad at the center of the tack head, with the flat part of the tack head surrounding it. If you try to push one into any hard surface, like a piece of wood, the flat part breaks off from the brad, and you end up impaling your thumb on it. Ouch! They work fine on soft surfaces like bulletin boards, but if you want to use them on telephone poles or fences or whatever, use caution to avoid a minor but painful injury.
