If Only the Backwash Syringe Worked
I liked everything about this filter bottle - except that the backwash syringe stopped working after the first time. If you're using questionable water, you MUST be able to clean the filter at regular intervals, and the syringe is the only way to do that. I liked the bottle's capacity and how I could attach it to the outside of my backpack with a carabiner. Luckily I was able to access bottled water for most of my trip, but the inoperable syringe is a deal breaker. Back it goes for a refund.

Plastic taste and zero customer service
Easy to process water and light to carry. Bad taste of plastic in water. I reached out to customer service to find out more about storing the filter after use via email because there is no way to reach them by phone. After 3 days still no answer even by e-mail. Customer service is worse than poor since it doesn’t even exist.

Upside and Downside
May be great since it is LifeStraw BUT it doesn't have a base to allow it to stand alone. That may not mean much to some but it did to us. Otherwise, it functions as advertised and rolls up well.

Does not filter to a taste standard
Has a small filter, leaves a plastic after taste. Will work as a Collapsible bottle but you can find one for a third of the price without the filter

Perfect for emergencies
I was debating what to get for our go bags and emergency kits and jumped at the chance to give this a try. It is perfect for these uses. It takes up minimal space in our go bags and weighs less than multiple bottles of water, while also providing us with a clean vessel to drink any gathered water out of (unlike if you packed just the straw). Suction is easy, my 5 year old can use it. There are no leaks either.

Great for hiking.
I have a water filtration pump that i use for a week or longer hikes in the back country, but I was hoping to find something that works the same in a smaller lighter package for shorter hikes by myself. The LifeStraw brand and specifically this bottle were recommended at a disaster prepping class that i took with my wife, so i got this one to try out. Just to get it out of the way I agree with the other reviews that complain about the fairly strong plastic taste, but to be honest I do not know if it is from the bottle itself, or a side effect of the filtering process. I have pretty much solved this problem for myself by carrying mint leaves from our yard. I drop a mint leaf in and it helps with the flavor without blocking the filtration system because it floats to the top when I tilt the bottle to drink from it. As for the bottle itself, it is amazing. The pump I use for longer trips takes quite a bit of muscle and elbow grease to fill a bladder pack. This bottle does the same job with little to no effort on my part. I can drink normally when squeezing the bottle, or apply a minimal amount of suction to get the same results. It is lightweight and durable and fits easily into several different size packs. The micro filtration system is amazing. It will filter out 99.99 percent of both bacteria and parasites. One small filter will clean 500 gallons of water, and if the bottle is damaged, you can just use the filter as a separate straw. I have used on several hikes and now I can't imagine being without one. It is super nice to be able to drink right off of it instead of pumping a bunch of water and having to carry it. My overall opinion of the LifeStraw Peak Series Water Filter System is positive and I will be getting several more to outfit our car, and camping/hiking supplies.

650ml c'est juste un peu trop petit. Mais le produit est excellent.
6 jours en randonnée. J'ai trouvé ce produit très pratique. Mais avoir a refaire cet achat, je choisirais un plus grand format.
