Damaged and Short?

I hoped to get a good fiberglass screen like the very old Open Door brand or the one sold by the now closed catalog company, Improvements. I did have to buy this screen size though I usually get the 34-36 wide ones. However, when I opened the box the screen already had a small tear. I also could not cover the entire door length as the screen I got measured only 79"? My opening is 80" from the top of the door frames to the bottom, I checked to make sure. I moved the rod around as best I could to avoid gaps in the top and bottom of the rod and screen but I'm glad I didn't pay the older screens higher prices as this one is not as good as I had hoped for. I will keep looking. I do like that the screen has the velcro opposing tabs already attached on the screens edges. You only need to use the seperate opposite tabs that come in the box to stick on the wall or frame of the door so they match up to each other and hold the screen against the open door wall wherever you need it.

This item works well most of the time.

I have been buying this screen door every sense they came out with this product. Some years you can get it to last for two years (summers), and sometimes only one. Regardless it works great for someone who has an sliding door, with dogs. I thought I'd get a jump on my summer season, so I ordered this early, and put it up two weeks ago. The velcro tabs that are included, to stick on the side of the doorway, to keep the screen flush (so bugs don't get in), lost the adhesive to the paper backing, which was annoying, but no problem. I could live with it. But today the screen itself started splitting, and now I need a new one, as this happened just outside of the return window. I will be buying a new one, I hope that this one, was just an old one from the back of the warehouse

Tension rod holds tightly!! This is THE ONE TO GET!!

The media could not be loaded. I really prefer this type of doorway screen curtain over the other types that you use the velcro & sticky tabs for! And no holes from nails or tacks from fastening the other screens to keep them secure....the tension rod on this curtain works flawlessly & really grips the top of the doorway! I am so happy I found this one! This one is the only one I will use from now on. The quality is there too!

Heavy duty, works GREAT! Don't let the price fool you!! It's worth a lot more!

I had one of those split down the middle magnetic closure screens that velcro to the door frame in my sunroom for about two summers. It didn't quite make it through the second summer because the heat on the doorframe (whatever metal the sunroom is) melted the glue and the whole screen rolled down the door, the window in the door, the frame, making a huge sticky mess. I have dogs who like to come in and out, and I also like to be able to have the sunroom door open when the weather permits. I knew I did not want another stick on as I had also had to alter that one a bit since my doorframe is not quite a standard opening, it's smaller. So when I came across this with the tension rod to hold it in and NO VELCRO all over the place, I decided to try it out. It was a tiny bit long but I rolled it once and then jammed it up into the top of the frame and it holds for a good while before I have to pull it down and roll it again. I'd far rather do that than deal with the mess of the other one. I know I can take it down and sew it up but for now, this works. It's MUCH MUCH heavier duty screen material than that magnetic one and feels like it will last a long time. As others have said, the one problem is the velcro that came attached to it. Mine fell right off as well, but it's no big deal to pick up a pack of the good heavy duty velcro BRAND and cut it to size. I got the one that holds 10lbs so it's been great for this screen. I use it on one side to hold it closed permanently and one of the side near the "handle", where pulling it open quite often has not been a problem. It took my dogs a bit to get used to the fact that it no longer opened down the middle but they've got the hang of it now so I can leave the door open for them and they go out and back in as they want. I am considering buying one for my camper and hanging the rod, since there is nowhere in the door frame to leave it up.

Perfect dont be fooled by the low price.

I have tried several of these screen curtains. Must have since we leave backdoor open for dogs to come and go. I have a very odd sized back door so the others purchased never fit good. To long, to wide, to narrow, cheap product. You get the point. This one is perfect. The tension rod fits nice and snug. I have dogs running in and out it's still in place. When you install be sure to make the rod about half inch bigger to size of door then push the rod back so it fits tight in place. There is a spring inside the rod so this can be easily accomplished with a little muscle. The reason for 4 stars is the velcro strips that come to secure the side had no sticky side. The sticky was stuck to the paper not the velcro. (See attached picture) I had velcro strips so I was able to use those. The velcro is important to secure the sides of the screen to keep it tightly closed. You might want to purchase a pack of velcro to be sure you have it on hand. I am pleased at how thick the screen is but you can still see outside nicely. For this price I'll purchase more for years to come. Its a great product even if you dont have odd sized door. You'll not need to damage the door frame with nails, pins to install like some require. Don't be fooled by the low price this one is far better then others that cost more.
