UPDATING A PRIOR REVIEW. THIS DID NOT WORK WITH 4'' TILES AFTER ALL.

This seemed OK to me and was well adhered when I tested on it. However, because a hairline edge of the bottom was on a grout line, it did come off the next day. Granted, it took my PT person pulling and yanking pretty hard, but if you needed more than just a touch to balance yourself, I would not say it is suitable. I don't think it would be stable if you had to put weight on it, as in a fal l. This would be fine on smooth, flat surface or on tiles just a bit larger than 4". Instead I had traditional 9" grab bars professionally installed where backed up by a stud.

Offers Stability Getting Into Shower

I had doubts about how well something like this could really help one keep their balance. I was pleasantly surprised at how strong the suction is once installed properly. I use it to hold onto when lifting my foot up over the tub to step in for a shower. Works like a dream. I've had it for over a month and have never once felt it shift at all when using it. It really gives you peace of mind as you step into the wet tub.

I think it is a one off defect. I have boughten this exact item 3 other times, that work perfect, from other sources. This item loses suction after a couple hours and has to be attached again. Not a good option for elderly people that might not notice and try to grab it.

Measure your ceramic tiles

Product is fine but make sure you measure your ceramic tiles so the suction cups each land flat on the flat ceramic and not at an intersection or border joint. My tiles are only 4x4 so it's impossible for me.

Doesn’t stick to tile or painted walls

I bought two of these handles for my shower. It took several tries before I read the box and realized they don’t work on certain tile. They also don’t work on painted walls. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume that handles for bathrooms would work on tile! Make sure you check if these will work on your surface before buying
