Easy install, looks great...very fragile be careful not to bend!

I got this because it is the correct size, and also matching my door know and hinges nicely. Was easy to install. I gave this 5 stars. A coupling things to keep in mind during the install which kept this from 5 stars. Due to this being aluminum and the 30" length, it is very, very flimsy and fragile. If not always kept perfectly straight, this will bend very easily. Once bent you will not be able to straighten back to original form and will ruin this. I can't stress how important this is. Lastly the double sided tape squares to keep this held in place is a nice idea, however if you don't create a hole in the squares before putting the screws in, it gums up the threads of the screw making it impossible to start the threads in the door. I gave up on cleaning two of the screws and threw them away, which they gave two extra so I was ok. I followed the directions exactly, and overall nothing to keep me from buying this again. Overall, as long as you are careful with the product not to bend it, and be aware of the screw threads getting gummed up from the tape without creating a hole....you are good.

Classy and Well-made Kickplate

This product came in the packaging with clear instructions for installation. It had a fair amount of sticky backings to hold the hardware in place. All screws were provided and the satin metal matched my hardware nicely. Have a drill bit set so you can drill pilot holes if your door is aluminum. For my door, the screws did not attach well since my door is aluminum and hollow with insulation inside. I suggest you make sure the screw will hold in the door before adhering the kickplate with the sticky backs. Consider drilling a pilot hole, and attaching the screws with the kickplate (minus the sticky backs) to ensure the screws stay in tightly. Even if they go through the sticky backs, they may not hold the kickplate tight against the door. You may need to use something such as glue to bond the screw to the door. Despite this issue, I recommend this product. It was inexpensive compared to the big box stores and well made. It looks classy on my door and I am happy I purchased it.

Looks good

It made a big improvement in our front door. It covered some damage at the bottom of the door. Installation instructions were clear. Installation was easy.

Very easy to install, once you get the right screws to mount. Had problem getting screws, they are to come with the kick plate. But were not there, took some time to find out what was the correct size to use.

Mine was in great condition. Install tips

Some of the reviews said it came dented or damaged. Mine was in great condition. Install tips.... use lots of masking tape to hold it in place while you use a tape measurer to test for centering, and a level to make sure everything is good before you drill any screws. Step away from the door and make sure everything looks good before you drill. I painted my old door, added a new lock and handle, this kickplate, and a knocker and it looks awesome now.

I am smarter than my cat

I bought this for my basement door because my cat has torn up the wood on the bottom, trying to get into the basement. This has fixed that problem! I mean, she still claws at the bottom of the door, but... it's metal!! Ha ha ha!

Couldn’t find in brick and mortar stores

Came quickly, bonus screws and sticky pads included. The 30” size was hard to find and they’ve even stopped carrying these in our area. A little thin in bending a bit taking out of sleeve, be careful with it!
