Works Really Well; Definitely Needs the Paper Plate Trick
I used this right after some Glisten cleaner, so the Glisten might have loosened stuff up. But wow did dark grunge come out. I did a lot of tilting, swirling around, rubbing under the rim. Having read other reviews, I first cut a slit in a paper plate to just past halfway and slid that on facing down over the bristles, so I couldn't actually see what I was doing. I am very happy I did that, though, as pulling the brush out spattered filth all over the sink and it would have gotten out of the sink (and on my face) without that shield. I was left with nice bright metal showing. Also I forgot to pull out the rubber insert from the drain, so that came out with the brush. Which proved good, because I was able to rinse it off while it hung on the brush, then lift it up off the top side and scrub it more with the brush with minimal ick to my fingers. Grunge bits remain stuck in the brush despite much rinsing, so I'm keeping it in the garage now that it's been used (I suppose a nut pick or something similar could fish out the little chunks). Hopefully garage temperatures won't be a problem for it. All in all, I think this is an excellent cleaning tool and hope to get years of use out of it.

very strong/ stiff brush
Just like the sponge daddy, this brush is hard and unbendable/inflexible; it does the cleaning as it touts- very well but spits back debris in my direction if I’m not careful to slowly pull it out of the hole (how can one describe the actions of a brush that also looks like phallic symbol…gheez)! Anyhoo…great concept, works well, I recommend.

WORKS VERY WELL!
Our garbage disposal was smelling quite dank for the first time and we wanted to get it remedied asap. I read most of the recent reviews for this garbage disposal cleaning brush before I ordered it. I was going to order some of those Plink tablets but it seems like those just mask the scent for most people. We also tried some thin peels or lemon or lime, which smelled lovely for about 5 minutes then dissipated. Here's what I did: STEP 1. I did what one reviewer suggested--run ice cubes and cold water through. I ran about a gallon of ice cubes (only about 1 cup at a time) through. About halfway through this, an ice cube or two must have lodged in the discharge tube because the side with the disposal backed up, and so did the other side of the sink. I turned the disposal and running water off, and let it sit for about 5 minutes until the ice melted enough to dislodge, and then turned it on again. The water that backed up had tiny of bits of food debris so I knew the ice cubes were doing something beneficial in dislodging muck. STEP 2. I then dumped about a tablespoon of Ajax powder cleanser into the disposal. Then went at it with the brush. I scrubbed around and around, across the bottom and carefully pulled the brush out about halfway to scrub the underside of the rubber splash guard. I then ran cold water through. Then repeated the cleanser/brushing again. I am happy to report both of those things worked for us. There is now zero odor from the disposal! I hope these steps work for you, too.

Does a good job
This brush is designed for this specific job of cleaning the disposer unit, the bristles are stiff and because of its shape and that it’s designed for this one task it does a good job reaching the areas we’d been struggling to get to.

It actually works!
I have been cleaning and scrubbing my garbage disposer with all types of brushes, rigid metal ones, even took a knife to chip at the crust. Nothing had work until my miracle brush arrived. I got to work immediately and 10 minutes later, DONE & GONE! You should have seen the stuff that came out, the crust lifted in no time. NO muscles required! No more lingering odours! I know it’s just a brush but it actually works and that, makes me very happy!

Cleans Under Rubber Splash Guard Beautifully
I love this product. I regularly put lemons and ice cubes down my garbage disposal to clean the inside of the unit so my unit never has a smell problem but occasionally there is a build up of slime on the top and under the rubber splash guard which I've cleaned in the past with a rag but not very thorough as the splash guard on my unit does not remove. I tried this brush and I can't believe I've been struggling to clean the rubber all this time when there was this handy little brush to clean with great ease. I am not thrilled at how expensive it is but have to admit, it works great and if it ever breaks I will buy another (hopefully the price will lower by then).
