Perfect for someone to slide onto from a bed or wheelchair.

The drop arms are convenient to easily get on. It is bigger & the cushioned seat is more comfortable than the standard commodes the insurance covers. I am happy with it only issue is it could be sturdier. My husband is 200 lbs. I prefer to hold the commode while he gets on it.

Appears to be srong

Looks good. Just put together. 3 parts to connect. 2 side parts and seat part. Took some straining to get the parts to slide together. Padded seat will slide away from you as you try to transfer leaving a good size gap between my power chair and the padded seat. This can probably be corrected be putting a rubber band wrapped around the bar holding the seat. Will get back later with results. Chair is sturdy. All parts appear to be strong.

Some alteration improved it

This is a nice commode - easy to assemble, sturdy, well made, and easy-to-use arm rests that easily swing up and out of the way. Two things about it were initially annoying. The clips at the front of the seat (which are the same as the ones in back) are so tight when the seat is down that it is quite difficult to lift the front of the seat off of the cross bar - even for a healthy person, let alone a person with arthritis or poor health. After taking the clips off and filing down the projections that held it down so strongly it is much easier to lift. Of course in the back, this strong connection is desirable and the rear clips should not be altered. I hope you have a handy person available for this project. The other annoyance is the handle of the lid. The plastic is very shiny (easy to clean) and slippery. The handle in the middle of the lid is tapered. It is actually impossible to remove the lid using this handle. Easier to fix. I just put a rubber band on it. Problem solved.

It works but it's heavy

Very sturdy a little heavy to move around but it is a good product took some time to put it together I would recommend

Be very clear on how high you want your seat

I am a 5 foot 9 inch woman with long legs. This seat on its lowest setting has my toes as the only part of my foot that is touching the ground. My son who is just shy of 6 feet has no issues on any of the height settings. I love this though. It's sturdy. It has arms so I can stand up safely and easily. It has a soft cushion for my bum while I shower. I have not used it as an over the toilet or bedside commode. We did see how it would function just in case. Easy to use as a commode and fits great over our toilets. If ever needed we're set. I highly recommend spending the money based on safety. Totally worth it. PS had to shower in the backyard the first month after emergency spinal surgery. This chair inside a floorless two room shower tent was perfect. Now I can get upstairs to shower but am happy I could truly be clean while my body healed.

Perfect for those who suffer from pressure/bed sores!

I've had multiple pressure sores from being a paraplegic and being a pretty skinny guy. I'm about 6'1, 160-170, so my skins breakdowns are becoming more frequent as I get older. My old commode had a regular, hard seat that I've had since I ended up in a wheelchair in 2001. Well, I got surgery on one of my pressure sores, only to get discharged with staples and have the hard commode seat rip out a staple and ruin the whole surgery/progress to my open wound. So I immediately looked for a cushioned commode so I never have to deal with that again, and I have to say this has been great so far. I have 2 things to ponder if you're thinking about purchasing this. First, if you're a fully independent bathroom para, you need some longish arms to reach underneath this thing. It is pretty wide, so if you keep the seat in the middle of the commode you need a pretty decent reach to get underneath and clean yourself. Secondly, you can adjust the seat a little left or right, but their are metal support bars underneath that you must reach over to get to your behind, so someone small might have an issue. All in all, if you're looking for a cushioned commode, I wasn't able to beat this price anywhere. Anyone buying medical equipment for some type of disability knows it becomes a very expensive world once you're in it, so buying a metal framed commode for under $100 is pretty satisfying. I was on the medical websites and various back channels to second hand stuff like FB marketplace or ebay, but to get something well-made, clean, and extremely fair priced, I was and still am pleased with this purchase.

A must for recovering major surgery

If a bathroom isn’t quite close enough to the bedroom, this is a great solution. You can buy liners, so clean up is simple & sanitary.
