Fragrance of Baby Products

My 80-year-old mom uses Jaloma Baby White Petrolatum on her back because she said, “the salve helps soothe the itching.” I always know when she applied it, however, because the aroma is typical of some other Jaloma’s products; a scent reminiscent of baby product fragrances. Nonetheless, as long as my mom wants the salve, I will continue to order it for her comfort. Note: Upon application of the balm, the scent is noticeable; although, my nose is very sensitive to anything scented. The fragrance doesn't bother my mother's senses.

Seems pretty much like the better known brands

This is traditional petrolatum gel which has been around since my grandmother's days. I hadn't seen this brand before, but it seems to have the expected consistency and lack of any strong scent. Good quantities in each jar so that you can work out of a fairly fresh jar from time to time.

Petroleum Jelly

These are small jars of petroleum jelly. It is not specifically for babies. The only difference between this and regular, generic petroleum jelly id the addition of fragrance. I would have preferred it didn't contain fragrance. I'm not particularly fond of this one and that's more likely to cause allergy problems. This was made in Mexico.

These are the perfect size jars to keep anywhere. They are great to toss in a diaper bag.

gentle enough for little ones but...

This product is gentle enough for babies but they went and added a strong fragrance so if your little one has allergies to fragrance it's useless. I took stars away because of the strong scent. 3 stars.

Moisturizing just like Vaseline but I do not care for the “after smell” & packaging is odd

This works just like Vaseline and is very softening. What I do not like is the aroma as after I rub it in, it smells a bit like a burnt tire. Also, the pill bottle packaging is odd. It makes it difficult to get the entire product out of the jar. I would have preferred a small and squat jar to this one.

Just like name brands and other generics

Review of: Jaloma Baby White Petrolatum, Baby Unguent, Helps Prevent Diaper Rash, Soften Skin, Moisture Protection, Soothes Minor Scrapes and Burns, Protective Barrier, Mild Scent, 3-Pack of 2.11 Oz, 3 Jars @ $5.99 at the time of this review and ordering. You get 6.33 ounces of petroleum jelly total in 3 smaller and easy to carry with you jars. I used the standard sized name brand jar that we had on hand for size comparison in the photos. These can easily be slipped into a diaper bag for on the go needs. This stuff has lots of uses and I have used it to coat my car battery terminals and even a thin coat on the rubber seal around my car door to keep the doors from sticking shut in freezing and wet weather. While I did not find this brand to have any significant differences from the name brand or other generics, I do think it was just slightly more of a solid than the Vaseline brand. I found this product to be more expensive overall too. It's only advantage over others is the 3 smaller and easier to take with you jars. I hope this review helps someone to decide.
