Smaller than you think.
The caliper is approximately 4.5" long, slide shaft 1", measuring head 1.5", and the depth 1/8". Honestly the whole thing is definitely smaller than I anticipated, which is great. I keep it in a pocket organizer. Had to knock a star of due to unfinished edges that I had to clean up myself. Other than that, works great as a small straight edge/ruler/caliper.

Confusing to read...
It's OK for occasional use that doesn't require much precision, i.e., "close enough" is good enough. However, the slide works in reverse from standard calipers, so all your caliper movement habits will be backwards. Also the scale is confusing to read, both inside vs outside and figuring out exactly where the index on the scale is. Go with something metal with a traditional slide, instead.

141ME: Perfect Pocket Caliper
I was looking for a small pocket caliper to use at work, (hospital maintenance & biomed.) I’m lucky to have a couple Starrett calipers, but needed something to keep on me during long shifts. The 141ME is a little Swiss-built caliper, made of FRN. They can be a bit stiff when new. I used some dry Teflon film & it broke it nicely. The yellow helps you keep track of it, & the FRN is strong, stiff, & lightweight. The markings are fairly good, though not as precise as a Starrett or Mitutoyo. But Mitutoyo doesn’t seem to make a pocket caliper and the fantastic Starrett 1025 Series are about 25x more money. I have an older, US-made General 132ME pocket caliper, & frankly, it feels like a toy. The stamped metal is too thin for real accuracy, & I’m sure it would bend if you kept it in your pocket over time. So, for the price, the 141ME is tough to beat. It’s accurate enough for field measurements & DIY, it’s really sturdy, easy to read & lightweight.

Handy
Super handy but a little on the sticky side. But great for a quick size check on bolt heads ect. I use it almost daily on my job. I would suggest a stronger material one for accuracy but gets a pretty close reading for a quick check.

Accurate, easy on hands & tough fiberglass build!
I choose this model because it is fiberglass and not metal. I have a similar metal caliper from General Tools and it is thin, sharp, pokey, scratches delicate objects and is not pocket friendly (bloody fingertips if you're careless). In contrast, the 141ME is thicker, has smooth and rounded corners, is gentle on objects and pocket friendly. For my eyesight, it is accurate to within .5mm. According to the packaging, this caliper is fiberglass and the word plastic is not mentioned. While measuring an Arca plate I was surprised to find "Made in Switzerland" written in the ruler slot. Probably the reason it's pricy is because it's among the few items on Amazon not made in China! There is a gotcha: the silkscreened numbers near the thumb grip (the textured bump you push to expand the rule for measuring) are starting wear off after only a few days of use. Other than a little finger sweat, I have no contact with solvents. If it continues to degrade I'll return to amend this review. Also, the sliding rule was a bit stiff at first but loosened up nicely with use and a dab of silicon lubricant on a Q-stick. The 141ME is great to use because I don't have to worry about poking a finger or scratching a delicate piece. Just measure quickly and go about my work. It's accurate, slides smoothy, easy to use with one hand and the fiberglass is very durable, so I'm a happy camper as long as I can read the numbers...

Not a plastic fan, but a fan of this caliper
This review is for the 141ME Pocket Caliper. After ordering and trying several different pocket calipers including stainless and brass made modela by General Tools and others, I found this pocket caliper to be top of the heap. I was surprised one of the metal calipers didn't come out on top but quite frankly, none had the precision or usability to outclass this caliper. You might be surprised to find it is made in Switzerland and although it is a reinforced plastic the fit and finish are excellent and I find the feel it has in your hand is what really makes me want to use it. It is reasonably accurate for a caliper of this type. You are not getting a precision vernier caliper but that isn't what you are buying. I do see some of the printing wearing a little but the indices are etched so they should hold up reasonably well. I would have preferred to have the outside measurement marker be set in a small amount instead of being on the edge of the caliper but this is a trivial detail. There is a small inch scale ruler in 1/16ths along the top which is nice. To make the action even smoother I sprayed a small amount of lock graphite in the action and it is like silk. Five or six small pocket calipers later, this one is the best out there.

Is as advertised.
I like this product. It's simple to use, not bulky whatsoever, and can fit in my scrub pockets easily. I use this to measure masses on my animal patients, and its small size makes it appropriate for even small cats and dogs. It also tends to hold its position well, after moving it from the thing I am measuring, which is useful if you don't get the chance to read it immediately or if you're measuring moving things like I am.

After a year plus of usage (yellow plastic version)
This is for the yellow plastic version: I already have an accurate digital caliper for mission critical measurements. But its heavy, needs batteries, and I do not always have it on me. This little yellow plastic one has a low profile and slips into my pocket. I carry it in my laptop bag and have it with me always. It's great for taking into a supply store to check material thicknesses, do quick measurements when I am working in CAD. I also work with magnets a lot and need to measure thickness. Try using metal calipers on magnets! It also lays flat on a table and can be used as a short ruler and straightedge. Bonus: If you look on the back, it is made in Switzerland.

It is a perfect little pocket caliper
It is a perfect little pocket caliper. It is not a high precision caliper for measuring to thousands of an inch, but it is good to 1/32 of an inch or 1/10 of a millimeter for measuring outside and inside diameters, it fits easily in a pocket and it is rust proof too.

not great
It's great to have around, but it doesnt slide very well. I bought 3 of these and ended up trying different ways to make it slide better without success. Would skip this one.
