Put googly eyes on it, you won't be sorry
The media could not be loaded. There's a lot I really like about this robo vac, but the most important thing to know is that it is absolutely essential that you give it googly eyes. I have not had a single moment where I was in a bad mood after watching it clean once I did. Now for the rest of the review... I originally was going to get the iRobot i3 based on the reviews and having had a Roomba before. However, the price jumped by a hundred bucks on that in the week between picking a model and actually going to buy it. That put it firmly outside of my price range. After some searching around and reading, I chose the Eufy G30 Edge as my backup and let me tell you, I am so happy with it! Of all the backup options I had, I chose this one specifically because it is shorter than similar models. The one complaint I had about our old Roomba is that it was too tall to fit under the sofa or coffee table. That this one can slide under the sofa (and other low furniture) is a huge selling point for me. Under the sofa is where all the cat toys end up and I get sick of moving it to retrieve a gallon of plastic springs. On its maiden voyage, the Eufy pushed all of them out from under the sofa for me to pick up at my leisure. It was absolutely fantastic! Speaking of pet toys, the Eufy didn't try to crawl over the toys, just pushed them around. The only exception was toys that had long feathers on them, which would get caught in the rollers. I pick up all the toys before it runs a cleaning cycle, but I like knowing that it won't be an issue if a cat bats one to the floor while the Eufy is running. The lower price and reviews I read on Amazon for the Eufy also helped my decision to pick this over the others. I know one of the big selling points of Roombas is they are long-lasting and easy to repair, while this one is not as DIY friendly. However, for the price, it was worth the risk. Other reviewers mentioned it has a removable battery, which I thought was a plus. That might never be an issue for me, but I like the option to replace the battery if it came to that. Speaking of battery life, I haven't had an issue with it running out of juice. In fact, I will often run it twice in a row, especially if I've been doing a lot of yard work over the weekend and tracked in a bunch of debris. Though caveat to that, it only cleans my kitchen and living room, which takes 45 minutes to an hour each session, so I get 1.5-2 hours of use out of it easily. (My house is a 1950s 3-level-split. If I wanted to use the Eufy on the whole house, I would have to carry it to each floor or buy one for each level. The middle level with the kitchen and living room is the only part of the house that is a big rectangle suitable for robo vacs). But the important thing for me is it takes care of all the high traffic areas for me so my floors are no longer embarrassing. In spring and summer, I work 60+ hours a week and do not have time to vacuum as much as I need. The floors got hideous last year from neglect and I bought the Eufy specifically to address that. The little rotating brush helps a lot to pick up stuff near the baseboards and in corners, but I still have to take a damp cloth or other vacuum to those spots now and then. Thanks to the Eufy doing the bulk of the work, I can actually deal with the remainder of the floors within my work schedule. I can't say how well it works on carpet, as we don't have so much as a single throw rug. Our floors are a mix of hardwood and vinyl. I have the Eufy set to auto suction in the app and let it do it's thing. I can say that it is fantastic at picking up pet hair. We have two cats who think shedding is a competitive sport. I have the Eufy scheduled to run at lunch every MWF and there's enough to make a small kitten in the dust bin each time. It picks up the usual kind of dirt really well and its suction is good enough to get a lot of fine particle dust. Though that dust gets all static clingy to the inside of the bin, so wiping it out now and then helps. The Eufy does not like leaves or pine needles at all. It will push them around or they get caught in the wheels and dragged around. Threads of sisal rope from the cat tree wound around the brush, roller, and wheels but didn't stop them from operating. Though we had the same issue with our old Roomba. I'm impressed at how well it can go over rough terrain. We have a cat tree sitting on a piece of scrap sheet vinyl and when we first had our rescue cat, I caulked a thick rim around the edge of the vinyl to prevent her various accidents from getting onto the wood floors. The Eufy can get over the rim fairly easily. It can even climb up onto the base of the cat tree (also covered with a scrap of vinyl that also has a rim of caulk) but has more trouble getting down from there. Only once have I had to rescue it. I finally put a couple barrier strips down so it only has to go over the first caulk rim. Barrier strips are the reason I chose the G30 Edge over the regular G30. The aforementioned split level means stairs and I'd rather it not go tumbling down them. On the first run, I had not yet put down the strips and I watched it as it negotiated the landing. It did detect the edge and didn't go over, but I put the barrier down anyway just in case. As far as noise levels, it hasn't been an issue for me. My office is open to the rest of the house, so I hear it running, but it isn't distracting or noticeable in conference calls. It might be annoying if I was trying to nap on the sofa, but only because it occasionally makes clunking noises as it bumps into things or rolls over the floor vents. I do wish the brushes lasted longer. They tend to warp after a month or two of regular use but I'm sure there's a way to straighten them out. I am glad the Eufy comes with a spare brush and filter and that replacements are inexpensive. The shiny top shows dust and fingerprints like crazy (though at least that reminds me to dust now and then, I guess?). Navigation-wise, the Eufy seems to do pretty decently. It's a little dumb and occasionally forgets how to extricate itself from under the folding TV tray I'm using as a plant stand. I like that the app has the map feature. It's a good tool to see where there might be trouble areas. I included a screenshot of the map from today's cleaning. It did it's usual lunchtime run, then I did some maintenance on it, swapped out the brush and filter, and ran it a second time, hence the lower battery level. It also picked up way more dust once I did that. The first run gets cat hair and some debris, the second run gets the dust. Again, doesn't clean as well as our full size vacuum but it keeps the high traffic areas swept. And as others have said, it also helps me to keep the house overall more tidy, as I have to keep clutter off the floor. All in all, I'm very pleased with the Eufy G30 Edge. It functions well, was inexpensive, and looks amazing with googly eyes on it. The only thing that disappoints me is I can't convince any of the cats to take a ride on it. Probably for the best.

WiFi Problem SOLVED! *See update at end of original review*
UPDATE (4/9/23): I forgot to power off my eufy while servicing it and did an accidental factory reset. While struggling to reconnect it to my WiFi, I found an easier way than the previously described method. I've read numerous posts from folks experiencing the same struggle, so I hope this helps. Here's what worked for me this time: • Uninstall eufy Clean app • Disable the 5 GHz band on router • Factory reset the robovac • Restart phone • Turn off mobile data on phone • Install the eufy Clean app • Sign in and follow prompts in eufy Clean app to setup robovac • Enabled the 5 GHz band on router • Success! (If this doesn’t work, try following these steps with a different phone) After researching for weeks, I narrowed my robovac choice down to the Eufy 11S or the Eufy G30 Edge. I had pretty much decided to buy the 11S but then the G30 Edge went on sale during the October 2022 Early Prime Access Sale. Even on sale, it was 60 bucks more than the 11S but the extra bells and whistles of WiFi capability were intriguing. I should have listened to Consumer Reports which rated the G30 Edge lower than the 11S and gave it a low score for privacy. After spending hours trying to connect the G30 Edge to my WiFi I phoned and spoke with a very nice customer service rep at Eufy (Anker). She had me try everything I'd already tried numerous times but I humored her and tried again. I hoped that once she realized I wasn't an idiot who doesn't take the time to research a problem, she would immediately hand me off to a higher level of tech support. Unfortunately, all she could do was forward my information to a supervisor who might contact me if anything else could be done. At this time I've not heard back from anyone. At this time I've ordered a Eufy 11S but had to spend an additional 10 bucks because the price increased from where it had been for more than a week. So, Eufy has cost me hours of my life that I can't get back plus 10 bucks. If I'm not satisfied with the 11S, I'll send it back and no longer consider buying another Eufy product. Hindsight being 20/20, I've gone back and searched specifically for customer reviews regarding problems with WiFi on the Eufy G30 Edge. At least I know I'm not alone as several customers mentioned having this problem. If you're struggling with your G30 Edge, here is what I tried several times, unsuccessfully, to solve the WiFi problem: - Disable the 5 GHz band on my router - Factory reset the robovac - Turn off the robovac power switch - Unplug the charger for 10 seconds - Uninstall and reinstall the app Of course, I followed all prompts from the app including making sure I disabled mobile data on my phone and connecting directly to the G30 Edge via 2.4 GHz WiFi. I'm using an Android phone (Pixel 3XL) and an Xfinity router. Obviously, the WiFi works for some customers but be wary if you are using a similar configuration. By the way, the G30 Edge seemed to clean well when started manually with the pushbutton on the robovac. However, I can't justify paying extra for the G30 Edge if I can't utilize the bells and whistles that require WiFi. The S11 is rated higher by Consumer Reports, comes with a remote control, and the privacy issues aren't a concern because it doesn't have WiFi. *UPDATE* I've not heard back from Eufy customer service but I did manage to solve the WiFi problem on my own. I'm sharing the details of my workaround in case anyone else experiences this problem. This was a cumbersome process but it worked for me: - Changed the SSID of the 2.4 GHz band on my router to "TEMP" - Factory reset the G30 Edge - Installed the eufy clean (Eufy Home) app on an old Android phone (Samsung) - I was then able to connect to WiFi and set up the G30 Edge using the "TEMP" SSID - Changed the 2.4 GHz SSID back to its original name - Disabled the 5 GHz band on my router - Factory reset the G30 Edge - I was then able to connect to WiFi and set up the G30 Edge with my current Android phone (Pixel) using the original name SSID - Enabled the 5 GHz band on my router - Success! I don't know if all the steps I listed are necessary but that's what I did and it worked. I was able to cancel my order for the 11S before it shipped. I'm going to give G30 Edge a chance now that I'm able to use the bells and whistles that require WiFi. Eufy customer service was friendly but not helpful. I find it unacceptable that I wasn't contacted by higher level tech support. The pleasant customer service rep with whom I originally spoke was limited to walking me through the basic setup steps I'd already tried numerous times.

The Eufy G30 Edge, Well Done...
I owned this Eufy G30 Edge for about a week now, and I am very pleased with it. My home has 4 levels with two of them having hard surfaces. According to the software the first area is about 910 Ft². The first time I ran this area, the dist catcher was full of dog hair and debris. Before we used a large dust mop, like the one the Janitor used at school to clean the halls. I thought this was doing a good job until the Eufy got hold of it. The Eufy took about 112 minutes to complete this level. The next time the Eufy did this level the dust collector was only half as full as it was the first time. Now for level two. This is the level where the dogs stay most of the time. This level is about 600 ft². there is more furniture on this level so not as much exposed floor area. The Eufy takes about 75 minutes to complete this level. The first time on level two the dustbin was completely full. When you walked over the floor in your bare feet the floor still felt gritty. I charged the unit cleaned it and ran it again. This time the bin was full once more. So I clean the machine thoroughly even removing the beater bar brush from the bottom of the vacuum and relieving all the hair that had entangled it. I allowed the unit to charge again and ran it for the third time. This time was successful. The floor was clean looking and also to the touch. I know I gave this Eufy G30 Edge 4 stars "BUT" I would have given it 4¾ Stars if I could. To get a 5 out of me it has to blow my socks clean off... I have set up the Auto Clean for every other day at 2 a.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This seems to work for me for now. I will be back for an update in about 6 months or so... Would I buy it again? "Oh hell yeah".

Definitely a Good Investment
We purchased this item when it was on sale and it has been worth every penny its arrival. We have three cats in the house and as you can imagine, keeping up with cat hair can be a challenge. Since we started running the Eufy the floors are fur-free and clean. Setup of the Eufy was easy. Remove the protective tape, attach the side brush and set up the app. The first battery charge takes a fair amount of time so those impatient like me to see the "new toy" in action will have to wait for a while. The app provides comprehensive access to the unit, letting you set a schedule for cleaning, power of the unit, command it to come home, command it to start cleaning or to perform a spot clean. You can also manually control the unit if you want to but having tried that I really don't see much of the point behind that feature. The Eufy takes a bit longer on its first run through the house. I suspect it is learning a bit about its environment on this first run. As it learns it is able to clean faster. The sensors are pretty good and the Eufy hasn't even come close to falling down the stairs, even though it cleans right to the edge of the steps. It will bump into things but it adjusts and manages to clean around obstacles. You have to provide routine care for the unit on a regular basis. I empty the dustbin and remove any hair or debris from the roller and side brush every two days. It's not a difficult job and takes only a few minutes. Overall, we are very happy with the Eufy. The floors look great and we don't have to give it too much thought. Some things to consider: - The Eufy is "afraid" of sunlight. Its sensors interpret bright sunlight as a great void so it may send a cry for help if it finds itself in a bright sunbeam. - There is a roller brush and like any vacuum, that roller brush may get caught with stray objects. We have kids who sometimes leave a sock lying around. The unit will issue a cry for assistance if the roller becomes jammed. - Battery life is good. It cleans +/- 1000 sq feet every day without running low on battery. If it does run low it will return home and then resume cleaning once it is fully recharged. - The app runs over the WiFi and communicates over the internet as well. You can control the unit via the app even when you are not home. - Watch out for stray wires. The unit is very slender in height and fits under our entertainment unit where it finds a few wires and occasionally gets stuck. That said, I am amazed by how often it can run over a power cord and work its way back off. I've given the unit a four star review but I would go as high as 4.5. I am sure there are better, smarter robot vacuums out there but this one does what it is advertised to do and does it very well. The gap in the star review would be mostly around the fact that you really do have to pay attention to the thing, especially to keep it out of the sun.

Happy with this product
Works well in my condo with mostly hardwood flooring. Love that it is small enough to go under the sofa, shelves, bed and dining table beween the chairs. Suction power is good enough for light debris, dust and hair. It doesn't do too well along the carpet edge. Picks up a lot of dust despite cleaning 3 times a week! I'll have to clean the filter every week or two and that is easy enough to do within a couple of minutes. Comes with a small brush that is handy when cleaning the filter. The app is useful and realy convenient to be able to schedule the cleaning any day and time of the week. Easily pairs with Alexa. Also like the BoostIQ mode which automatically switches to higher sunction when on carpets. I have a smaller condo and it runs silently enough that I can notice it when its working. No need to increase the TV volume. IMO the navigation system is important as it cleans in a systematic way ensuring every corner is covered and doesn't just run around randomly. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase and at a good price compared to others like the Roomba.

Works perfectly as expected.
Summary Overall I am very pleased with the Eufy Robovac G30 (not the edge version). I did a lot of research on this and narrowed it down to this vacuum or the iRobert i3 with the auto-empty feature. I have just used it on my main floor for past 3 weeks and it works very well. A part of my decision was its low profile as I have a few pieces of furniture I wanted it to get under, and the i3 would not have, particularly a large front entrance table that tends to collect a lot of dust under it. Finally, I have mostly tile and wooden floors and only 2 larger area rugs, so my need was mainly for floors. Out of the box it came with manual, power base, extra filter, extra sweep arm, manual and some cable ties. Price I paid $350 Cdn for the G30 on Amazon, on sale, so I felt it was a very good price. The i3 was $700 at the time, also on sale, so a lot pricier for the auto-empty feature. Emptying the tray takes very little time, and gives me the chance to check if the roller or sweep brush needs cleaning. Mapping I felt I really needed one that could map where it went as I did not feel a random one would do a good job with my somwwhat complicated floor plan with lots of furniture. Very pleased with the 30G's ability to map the floor and do every inch. Better than I expected. Navigation It did an extremely good job of navigating around furniture. It moved around obstacles quite efficiently. It got stuck under only 2 pieces of furniture so this was not bad. Putting something there to block the robovac from going under and getting stuck stopped this. It also turned on an angle to get up on to thick hemp rug so was quite impressed with that. Cleaning First cleaning seemed a little underwhelming, but considering you can set it to do every day, it really gets most of the dirt it missed the previous day. I think the container might have filled up a bit quickly on the first cleaning so may have impacted it. While I read some reviews that the G30 was not as good on carpets, I find it does quite a satisfactory job. I am looking to get dirt and dust off carpet and not as concerned with deep cleaning. I figure my main central vac and beater will get that. The vacuum is supposed to increase suction on areas such as rugs but I have not noticed this, perhaps as I only have area runs without high pile so it does not trigger. The dust tray really filled up the first few days I ran it. (see pic of 2nd day) The 7 day schedule feature is really nice and I think a necessity. Application Interface The app interface works very well. It draws a very accurate map of its cleaning area, which is zoomable. See attached image which shows the complexity of rooms on main floor. Dimesnion of 39 ft. added to show scale. (this is not in the app!) Run Time It runs about 110 minutes each session so that is quite good. It has a return function but since it does most of the whole floor, this return does not seem to be needed.

Great vacuum!
This vacuum was a great decision. We both have busy jobs and are neat freaks, so it was coming down again to hire a maid or try a robotic vacuum. We went with the vacuum after reading the reviews and seeing how great the customer service was. Now I can push a button in the app or on the vacuum and it gets to work and we can do other things. It does a fantastic job on hard floors. We have berber carpet and dogs with short coarse hair, it does a good job with this on max suction, but not great. It may be fine or other types of carpet. It has no issues climbing up mats by doors, sweeps the edges of the rooms with hardwood exceptionally well, and gets right to the edge of the stairs without going over. It even gets under the TV stand, beds, and the dinning room table. Overall, it's been a great buy for us.

Awesome value and performance
I spent a couple days researching and comparing the cost and reviews of these Robo-vacs. I wanted some bells and whistles but I also wanted affordability. The reviews on this product convinced me to commit to it and I couldn’t be happier. A little snag getting it hooked up to my wifi and the start up use of the app isn’t as intuitive as I’d like but once I restarted my wifi it has worked well. Cleaning wise this thing is great. Works in a sensible pattern. Seems to learn the layout of your house quite quickly. I upset the balance moving it’s charging station but it recovered within a couple of cleans (probably could have reset it but I didn’t bother). I am surprised at the amount of dust and hair it picks up daily. I have a dog and a cat and three tiny humans in my house. I have no time to vacuum daily myself but this little buddy I set him to do a cycle once we all leave in the morning and the amount of fluff he picks up every day is awesome. The voice choices are cute and it paired super easily with my Google Home which was nice and is somewhat entertaining for me. We named ours because it’s fun to command your robot-vac Alfred to begin cleaning out loud. ???? Seriously considering getting a second one for our basement level. 10/10 would recommend this model and brand
