Not so easy to assemble

Great idea for my 9.5 year old son who discovered his love for weaving in art class at school. Cardboard causing uneven projects, a wooden loom seemed a great direction. Melissa & Doug items come with good reputation. Better labeled hardware for a child who wants to self assemble would be a good suggestion. One side assembled ok, but not tight. The other was not countersunk far enough. Dad had to intervene and make a few adjustments. So this particular kit was not as easy to assemble as preferred but my creative son is weaving very happily now. We’ll see how his first project turns out when he can get back to it. So far, he loves it!

Great design

It must have been a weaver who designed this little loom. Like every Melissa & Doug toy the quality is excellent. I purchased this to have a hands on for weaving with third and fourth graders and you really can't beat this. The instructions are well done, building it was simple and it will stand up to steady use. Plus it came with everything - no need to get anything else. All in all one of the best purchases I've made.

Grandson loves this loom!

My 7 year old grandson had learned in school about “knitting” on a simple wooden dowel setup. He was obsessed with making scarves. We saw this for Christmas and thought he’d enjoy doing larger projects too. Plus this on is upright and has a wooden needle to thread threw the loom. It does supply some yarn and we also purchased some extra wool for him. Let me just say all his stuffed animals and his sisters now have scarves! He just loved it, and it kept him busy for hours. A great manual dexterity activity too. GiGi for the win ????

Fun and sturdy beginning loom

This beginner's loom is well built and comes with the information and materials to get you started weaving! Lots of fun and opportunities to weave fun items for friends and family. We highly recommend this loom for children and adults who want to begin weaving!

Easy, sturdy, fun!

I bought this loom for my children; it makes an excellent handicraft option for a Charlotte Mason style eduction. ASSEMBLY: It was easy to put together; the caveat is you do need to look at the pictures closely to make certain all pieces are facing the correct direction. QUALITY: It is well-made, sturdy, and arrived packaged very nicely. The yarn included is very soft and has rich colors. It is easy to adjust the size or partially disassemble for storage. EASE OF USE: We found this almost surprisingly simple to use. My kiddo completed a small project in a couple of sittings; I helped with the start and finish but they can do it mostly solo once having gotten the hang of it. The project instructions are fairly easy to follow. Start with the basic weaving instructions before beginning a project, and again, always pay attention to the pictures to make sure you’re understanding each step. One reviewer complained that the uprights don’t stay threaded; all I can say is if that is the case then it’s not threaded properly. We are two projects in with a child doing most of the weaving and this hasn’t been an issue. The resulting weavings are very nice and practical, and something your child can be proud of!

Amazon came thru with a new loom & I really love it.

Since I wrote my last review about this loom my feelings have changed. I contacted Amazon about the terrible workmanship of the wood on the loom. They have replaced the previous loom with a new one and I could not be happier. All the pieces fit and are not warped. My granddaughters are so happy they. They have already made a scarf for their mom and it worked wonderfully. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to change what was a not to happy experience to a wonderful time with my grandaughters. I HIGHLY Recommended this loom.

Sturdy loom, great for beginners

Big, sturdy loom that was easy to set up and get going with. I bought it partly to try out for myself but also as I have a young daughter who might be ready to try it out in a year or so - that said, it’s not the most exciting activity and requires a lot of patience so we will see. Mostly wanted it to use up scraps of fabric and wool from my other hobbies rather than wasting them. Have quite a few Melissa and Doug bits and they are always good quality, this is no different.

We love it.. The only issue that 2 pictures that are for beginners are the same. I tried to find a way to contact the seller without success. Still happy with it.

Me encanta. Es un regalo fantástico para niños de 8-9 años. Está fabricado con madera bien acabada, sin aristas. Lo ha montado mi hij@ sin ayuda. Muy fácil de usar. Las instrucciones vienen en inglés, pero hay tutoriales suficientemente claros en Internet. Viene con dos madejas de lana de un color precioso y que da para hacer varios trabajos. Su dimensión te permite hacer trabajos de tamaño medio. Por ejemplo un cuello pequeño, pero no una bufanda. Escogí el que tiene embalaje pequeño y ocupa relativamente poco una vez desmontado. No sé si lo usará mucho o poco, pero es muy buen producto.

non come mi aspettavo

da piccola avevo un telaio con una barra intermedia che mi permetteva di tessere molto rapidamente: tra una filata e l'altra bastava girare la barra. Questo telaio funziona in modo molto rudimentale, devi passare l'ago di legno a zigzag tra i fili della tela. inoltre una delle viti era difettosa e mi sono dovuta arrangiare con altre viti che avevo in casa.
