It can measure but it is not so easy to use

There is only one button to do all: change temperature unit, show memorized temperatures, take the temperature and switch on. For me, it is not easy to memorize how many seconds I need to do each of these, so all the time I need a measure I have to read the manual... this is why it is a 3 stars for me. The design is really nice, though.

Simple, easy, precise, but not at all accurate

Bought this so we could reliably and quickly test temperature of our kids (and us) before the school day. It is accurate and precise; always within 0.2 of oral temp, and within 0.2 of other readings. Small, simple, easy to use, and takes up no space at all. ———— 2 Month Update: Well, after two months of checking temps and getting readings in the 98.x range, the kids went back to school and on day 3 started feeling under the weather. But no fever...or so I thought. Doctor took 3 temps, all 100.2. Home oral thermometer read 99.9. This piece of junk? Still reading 98.3. Three of us have temps, but we can’t get this thermometer to read it. I suppose if you want to send your kids to school sick, this is the thermometer for you. Should at least buy you half a day before the school nurse calls you to get your kid.

Easy to use

Seems to be as accurate as other infared thermometers out today. Looks like a TV remote, so I get amused when my family found it and tried turning on the television with it. So, it serves two purposes. Taking a temperature, whether it be forehead, wrist, or ear, it works, and confusing people. LOL

It is so quick and accurate to get a read. You can get multiple people checked quickly and not have to wait on the thermometer to reset.

Amazon sent a used thermometer

I received the thermometer in a plastic bag...no original box and no manual. The plastic protective coating over the top had clearly been peeled off and put back on (even had fuzz in the corner). In addition, despite the description clearly stating that no batteries were included, THERE WERE BATTERIES IN IT. I tried it out since it already had the batteries, and received readings ranging from 98.7 to 99.9 all within a minute of each other....maybe I am using it wrong since again, no manual or instructions. Definitely returning.

Had to take toddler to ER.

This thermometer is a terrible. Do not trust it. It kept reading 99.9 -101.1 over and over and over on our toddler. Our toddler just felt so much hotter. We decided to use a rectal thermometer which read 105 and 105.1... If we would have relied on Dr. Talbots thermometer. Our toddler literally might not be here anymore. Do not trust this thing. We threw it away.

Power hungry!

I bought this thermometer because it was rated very highly on several review sites. When I got it, I installed some freshly charged AAAs, and went to try it out. It flashed some numbers on the screen for a second then a battery icon started blinking. Ok... maybe my batteries are dead. Tried another set of rechargeable AAAs. Same thing. Ok... maybe I need to charge them again. An hour later. Nope... same thing. Except this time, one of my freshly charged pairs worked. I got it to read a temperature. Tried it a few times and then boom. battery icon again. What??? These are also brand new rechargeable, and i verified voltage with a digital voltmeter. 1.2 or 1.3 volts i think it read. Not good enough for this beast, i guess. So, I went out and bought a bunch of Lithium AAAs. Let's see how long they last against this energy vampire. In theory, the device should stop whining since lithium hold voltage longer before dropping off.

Affordable + Accurate = Good

So glad to have found this much more affordable option! Although you must angle the thermometer in order to take an accurate forehead reading (since this model is straight versus others that are made angled), that’s definitely not a problem. The readings have thus far matched the readings that of our Braun’s Ear Thermometer. I believe that I’ve finally found a GOOD and ACCURATE no-touch thermometer without the ridiculous cost mark-up during this pandemic!
