Not true to size

These 9/16" hooks would hav been great if I could have only gotten them on and off my truck easily. However, the bend is not correct and it was nearly impossible to finagle them on and off. The illustrated dimensions say the width of the hook is 2 5/8", however, the actual measurement is barely 2 3/8." If the opening were wider as shown in the advertisement, they would have worked. The hook is parallel to the back on both that I bought, not angled as shown. Had to send them back. Ordered another set with the smaller 7/16' steel and had the same problem.

I used this for light towing service ACROSS THE PROPERTY, NOT ON THE ROAD

I bought a used lawnmower, and learned my lesson about that. The da(r)ned thing frequently stops and I must tow it to the garage. This little hook fits nicely to the eye on the back of my old Ford Escape so I can connect a chain (NEVER A CABLE) for towing. This is not the hook's intended purpose; it is an extra when towing on the road, so don't leave the yard with it. SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY in all things. A solid, sturdy device at a very good price. Thank you!

Big!

Great quality but much bigger than I thought. Bought this as an extension for my trailer safety chains. 5/16" chain will not fit through this, but a 5/16" quicklink will. Fits through the safety chain hooks on my silverado with ease. We'll likely be the strongest part of my safety chain set up.

Very helpful seller

I purchased this hook, but realized it was too large for the chain we are using. Seller went above and beyond to help me cancel order. Although the product had already shipped, seller provided a refund and suggested I donate the hook (without the hassle of shipping it back). Not your average hook

I am an amazon prime member and this item, while shipping free, did not qualify to ship by itself. Instead it was an add-on item. Not a big deal, but I had to wait a little bit. If I had needed it right away I would have ordered elsewhere or purchased it locally. The price was really good and I needed a hook rated for 5,000 lbs. I will say, on arrival, the hook was a bit bigger than I expected. That being said it fits the bill for my requirements. Works well and as advertised. The package arrived quickly and undamaged. I would recommend this product if you need a hook that locks on, is rated for significant weight, and you don't mind a larger hook. Also, I needed the safety latch for my application.

Great price, solid.

This is big enough to take my tow chain easily, and seems plenty strong. I don't see the "wimpy" problem for the gate that another reviewer mentioned. Certainly a bargain. I bought it after trying a different one, that was too small to accept an everyday tow chain even with major adjustments. This one is far better for about the same price.

They fit the trailer hitch connection point.

Kurt trailer hitches do not work properly with their standard chain to hitch hooks. These ones are much bigger. Not impressed with having to purchase these.

Perfect fit.

The S hooks on my hybrid trailer we’re very difficult to get through the eyelets on my 2006 f 150. Unhooking the S hooks was an epic battle as they were so tight. The new ones clip in and out easily. Wish I had done this long ago.

These clips work great as coupling hooks for my safety chains. They snap on and off the hitch holes easily.
