Less heat and less air forced through equals quieter

I just used this hair dryer for the first time this morning. The buttons on my old one stopped working so I had to replace it. I chose this one based on its price. Bargain priced for sure. First impressions: 1. It has less intense heat than my old one. I used the highest setting and it didn't feel hot. Not cold either but you could definitely feel the heat with my old dryer. 2. The cord is shorter than my old one. Not a major problem for me but if you need a long cord, this may not be for you. 3. The amount of air forced through for drying didn't seem to be as great as my old one either. That being said, there was NO DIFFERENCE IN DRY TIME BETWEEN old and new dryers. That was weird. I thought that with less air, it might take longer, but it didn't. You should know I have fine hair that dries easily anyway. Furthermore, IT IS MUCH QUIETER than the old one. This is a BIG DEAL to me. I had originally searched for the quietest hair dryers out there but they were all quite pricey. This one is much quieter than expected so I feel like I have a win on my hands here. I would say the sound is still slightly higher pitched than ideal, but I think I'll disturb the rest of the house less with this one. You will see people comment about the finish and that it will flake off. Can confirm that it will probably happen. It happened with my old hair dryer too which had the same matte finish coat. But I'm the only one who uses it so I don't care too much if the finish eventually flakes. Overall, I would recommend this hair dryer.

Effective, lightweight, should have gotten this hair dryer sooner

This hair dryer is lightweight, small enough for me to use on myself (I don't have to be a contortionist), I don't have to use it for travel and can still use it for home-use. It dries my hair quickly and my hair does not have frizz since this is an ionic hair dryer. It is a nice color and I like that it folds (since it is travel size) so that it fits easily inside my drawer. My arms don't get sore anymore from using an old hair dryer that was really meant for salon use (for someone else to be using on you) and it was too heavy and long, so this Conair travel size version is perfect.

Dries your hair, but the coating comes off

Conair is a brand that has been around for a long time. I like this hair dryer for its power and heat, but after about 2 weeks of using it, the white paint/coating on the handle is flaking off. I've tried to use a rag and get off as much as possible, but it keeps coming. It's not a show-stopper for me, but just be aware that if you see white flakes on your hands, it's shedding! Otherwise, I do like it. I'm sure it will all wear off eventually.

A great hairdryer!

Bought this already thinking I would probably have to return it. It’s a great dryer.. very inexpensive but tremendous value. Doesn’t dry my hair (long) as fast as my favorite Dyson, but it’s a relatively quick dry. Light to hold unlike others I’ve had in the past. I would definitely recommend.

My First Hairdryer

I’ll start this off by saying I’m a man in bud mid 20’s. My hair started looking really flat no matter what I did so I thought to myself, maybe I should try a hair dryer. I have used hair dryers before, but I’ve never owned one. I am so glad I finally bought one. This hair dryer brought back volume to my hair and I love that it folds for compact storage.

Settings work good

I read all the reviews on this before purchasing but wanted this 1875 model as it is similar to previous model which is still working fine. I just needed a concentrator and must have lost it as I never used a concentrator previously. After reading so many reviews of basically all hair dryers shorting out, burning up, etc., decided to go with the cheapest one lol. The finish is a very matte finish yet people complained that it chips off. Not sure if they changed the finish but it is not shiny. We will see. Having said that, had seen a video that shows finish getting scratched and she determined (and showed) how it was the metal prongs on the plug that scratches it. I will be careful in storing it in a way where the plug isn't rubbing on the dryer. I do hope it doesn't start to flake as that would be so annoying. What I like about dryer: - Lightweight. I find it very light and easy to hold. I have RA so that is important to me. - All control settings seem to work well. The cool setting is actually cool. Cool shot works well also. For my thin blonde hair, low and warm will work well, with occasionally medium speed blowing. Not sure why some said it does not get hot. The hot on mine is hot! Too hot for my hair. What I don't like: - I do think they shortened the cord a little although I didn't measure. It still works for me as my outlet is counter height. - It is not super noisy and is quieter than my previous one. - My hair is smooth after drying with a natural bristled brush. For me the price of $20 was worth it since reviews of all price ranged dryers seemed to have issues. Overall I do think Conair's quality has decreased a bit, as has everything else. At the same time I've used this brand all of my life so safest bet for me. I will update if any real issues arise.

Great hair dryer!

I have pretty thick hair, so while it still takes a while to completely dry my hair with this dryer, I do like how shiny my hair is after use. This hairdryer is much smaller and lighter weight than my last one from Conair, which is great because it doesn't wear my arm out as quickly. I've only had this hairdryer about a month, but so far, I really like it!

Very nice!

So far I use this hair dryer about 4-5 a week and it has been great! I enjoy using it on myself and on my child. I'm glad it has a medium heat for her. It isn't that super heavy to use for about 10 min since we both have long hair, but at the ending you can start to feel the weight. But none the less, would get again if I ever needed to get another one. Great for the price!

Never thought I’d say a hair dryer looks gorgeous

The hair dryer dries hair well. I need to test it more but so far it seems to be a bit more gentle on the hair, compared to other hair dryers. It has a Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI) built into the plug to provide additional safety redundancy. An example the manual gave is if it was immersed in water, it would automatically cut the power. That’s a nice safety addition. The hair dryer is matte white, with matte rose gold accents. I have never thought a hair dryer can look gorgeous haha, it looks great in person. The filter at the back is removable for cleaning and it comes with a concentrator attachment head. Keep in mind, the concentrator is really hard to pull off so get ready for a workout! Perhaps it will be easier as I use it more often, and the ledges gets a bit more worn out. It is more on the expensive end but so far it appears to be worth it. If you already have a hair dryer, you should be fine with what you have, but if you’re looking for a new one, this is worth a consideration! Overall, good and very nice looking hair dryer!

Good Quality

It is good quality. It is not a portable mini hairdryer. It is more midsized. I ordered it to have as my main hairdryer because it folds and takes up less space. I like that it has LOW MED HIGH plus HOT WARM COLD settings. I really like the idea that it folds. It fits in my drawer int he bathroom nicely. And hey, if you travel it is a good size to travel with too. But it is NOT a mini travel size. It can easily be used to travel with but as your main hair dryer.

Leaves hair smooth and dry

Circle of trust here; I bought this hair dryer to get me by until I ordered a new dyson hair dryer. Well I liked this one so much that I’ve decided to let go of my dyson. It comes with the tip to attach at the end and to me that was a game changer. I can smooth down the frizz as I dry and for a fraction of the price of a dyson! I love it and would highly recommend.

Beautiful but easily scratched

I really wanted to love this, but it didn't work out. When I first opened the package, the body of the unit is already scratched up....Hair dryers typically last many years, so if I havent even started using this and it's already scratched, how is it going to look like in a month or two? Needless to say, I had to return. The performance of the hair dryer is pretty decent though! Enough power and does not overheat.

i bought this for my wife to take to germany where she has been posted by her employer. While waiting to leave she started using it as her main dryer here in canada and is pleased with it. So overall a good product
