Much better than I had hoped for

I bought this one, mainly for the battery. If you have several of the B&D yard tools as I do, buy this one. I have bought several of the highly rated B&D Pivot hand vacs. They are great, and I will buy another when the current one quits. When it goes dead in the middle of cleaning the cars, you are done for the day. But when the batteries die out completely in a couple of years it's over. Removable batteries on the Pivot would be cool. But they are still worth it. I got this one for a quick pick up around the back door and the kitchen rugs - and, yes we have rugs in the kitchen (??- not my department). The changeable batteries means you can always have one on the charger if you have a spare, and I expected it to use up a charge quick if it had much power. But SURPRISE! It has more power and better battery life than I expected. It's maneuverable to go under chairs like a Dyson, only much lighter. And it's quite powerful and a lot less expensive. I just rinse the little foam filter, squeeze it in a dry towel, and put it back in. You can store it in a corner with the battery installed and no cord so it's easier than a broom and dustpan. It's even used now for a quick pass over traffic areas of carpets before getting out the corded dinosaur Hoover for deep cleaning. Wow that was a lot praise for a vacuum cleaner! But still I have to add what could make it even better. The crevice tool is great for cleaning venetian blind spider webs between the vanes. But if they added an extension tube for it, you could do an easy pickup of webs on the ceiling. Are you listening B&D? No, probably not.

Really like this product for my floors

It is great Vac for floors has good suction and is easy to use in small spaces. The roller head moves so you can reach under counter behind the commode. Easy to clean out filter I would recommend this. I bought this Vac thinking it would be dual ~for inside and Car vac. I am elderly and it's too heavy and clumsy didn't do well for the car for me. The upright is excelent.

Clogs easily

I like 80% of the vacuum cleaner. 2 things I don't like are you can't take the bottom part of the vacuum off and just use the hose/stick part and it doesn't come with that attachment. The next thing is that the accordion like hose at the bend near the foot clogs up constantly. I have had to clean it out 3 times and believe me, it's not easy! So even though it's wonderful not having a cord, there's still a lot of work involved...just not the same kind.

So far it's great

I only used this vacuum once so I gave it 4 stars but I love it. I was amazed at the dirt it picked up on floors that I thought weren't that dirty! Goes smoothly from carpet to tile. Well made and so light and easy to uae- put together- empty. The light shows where the dirt is especially on tile. Love it.

Great features and performance compared to my previous cordless

I previously had a Nequare cordless that I loved, but after about a year and a half only held a charge for about ten minutes of use tops, and I couldn’t get a new battery for it. We already have several Black & Decker tools that use the same kind of battery is this vacuum, and being able to just exchange batteries was the main draw for me. I just vacuumed every corner and crevice on my main floor and still had charge left- wood floors and one 5x7 low pile rug. As you go there is an indicator so you know if you are almost out of power. The light makes dust and dirt really easy to see. It maneuvers well in awkward spots. Having the collection cup on top allows for laying it all the way down to easily get under furniture. It automatically increases or decreases power when I switch from hard wood to rug and back down again. When it’s time to empty, you pull the center filters out and all the dirt easily dumps out, so you don’t have to worry that something has gotten wrapped around it that requires squeezing your fingers up between the wall of the cup and the filter to try and wiggle it all out. The power button is well placed so you can toggle it on, off, higher and lower suction, but don’t hit it on accident. It’s only day one, but I am so glad I went with this one. I even opted for a used- very good one from Amazon Warehouse, and have no complaints. My mom has a new one arriving tomorrow for her house.

I like it but there's a notable flaw

I will preface this by saying that despite the flaw I'm still happy with this purchase. I own a full size dyson vacuum, but having to wrap the power cord every time is such a bother that I don't use it as much. Being able to pull this one out instantly is extremely convenient. I end up using this alot. The flaw: If you have the lower half disconnected for handheld use on fine dirt or sand, turn it off, then tilt it upwards, nearly all of it will just fall out when you tilt it back down. The intake has a door mechanism that just swings freely - if you tilt it the wrong way while it's off the door lets everything fall out. Battery life is usually enough, but barely. Takes a couple hours to fully charge too. Looking into getting a spare battery and fast charger. Also, the LED light makes dust really visible. Good feature that I didn't think I'd appreciate. Even if you don't buy this one, I recommend looking for this feature.

Easy and Functional

I have all hard surface floors. Wood and tile. Does the trick. Is easy to use, lightweight and highly maneuverable The light is a godsend as it really ensures that you see the dust bunnies. The canister is easy to empty and I get a lot done on a single charge. In all fairness, I knew this worked well because my brother has one. Two kids, dog and a larger home than mine. Said he’d never buy a super expensive stick vac again after owning this. Like him, I am still using a traditional, upright with a beater brush on the rugs so I can’t speak to how it does on carpeted surfaces. If you need a vac for hard surfaces you can’t go wrong with this.
