Cloudy Glass

It does what it says but it is kind of awkward because of the rubber rim, and thee glass is cloudy, looks like there is oil on it but when you try to clean it, it doesn't come off. When you cook with it fogs up and you can't see through the glass any longer. You get what you pay for here!

Great product.

It may come unscrewed and require re-tightening every few months, but overall it's a great product and definitely worth the money.

seals better than the original lid

In a moment of great laziness and stupidity, I moved a cast iron pan that had our large frying pan lid precariously balanced on top, which quickly became unbalanced and shattered on the floor :( This is our go-to pan for everything, it's our only non-stick pan, and I love it almost as much as I love my children. I was devastated. Then, I thought "I bet they make replacement lids so I don't have to buy a new pan!" Then I measured my pan and was distraught...do you measure the diameter from the inside of the rim or the outside of the rim??!?? Lo and behold, I found this gem. It snugly fits my 11.5" or 12" pan, depending on how you measure. I actually like it better than the original lid because it has a silicone nub handle that doesn't get hot and I don't need to awkwardly grab it with a potholder. It also fits my larger enameled cast iron and glass corningware pots.

Not as convenient as one might hope

A pan lid that accurately fits would be a much better solution. Although it is a functional "splatter shield", it isn't particularly great as a lid. If I use it on our medium size pans the pan handle holds the lid up, turning it into little more than a splatter shield, which is okay in some circumstances, but sometimes I like to keep the steam inside.

Does the job

It's big enough for large pans and smaller pans ,its probably a bit floppier than I would like it's basically soft silicone and I would prefer a harder material as well the handle needs to be rescrewed once in a while ,but aside from that its does the job I wanted it for and odd size frying pan I had no lid to match.

Better than original lid

The original lid was stainless steel and the pot is huge. When the lid handle broke I was able to find a large glass adaptive lid that fit, but it was so heavy. I then found a thinner metal lid - again adaptive because the pot is enormous, but it kept sliding all over the place, so forget that too. I put the pot into storage. I saw this and glad I did. Though it is adaptive like the other 2 lids I tried, the rubber holds it in place nicely so it does not slide around and it is lightweight enough so it does not turn the pot into a weight lifting item. The clear glass also makes me not miss the original stainless steel dome lid. I am really happy with this and the pot is now back in the kitchen. It makes the pot look nice also.

I'm sooooooooo glad to finally got one!

I've been looking for ever for such a lid! I had a different model from Canadian Tire that I hated because the step between the diameters was too high, so for wide pans, then the glass section was 1.25" inside the pan, which was ridiculous. It's really not the case with this model: this model doesn't even get 1/2" inside.
