Not what I hoped for

As several other reviewers have noted, I did not get the reaction I was looking for. My then 4 month old Shepherd/Pit mix is afraid of EVERYONE. Other dogs or animals can be his very best friends (he barks uncontrollably trying to get to them to say hey and as soon as he's there, he's cool as a cucumber) but people, not a chance. He is not a fan of my 6 yr old but not in a mean way, just in a, I'm going to bark until you go away, way. He will never choose my husband over me, unless I'm not there. I had hoped that the collar would at least help him physically relax and not be so tense in new situations. To be clear though, I didn't expect that it would cure his fear and turn him into a social butterfly. I was focused on body language and anxiety/nervous signs. It didn't seem to have any noticeable positive effect though. He wore it for 3 of the 4 weeks and I think his barking actually became more intense so I tossed it. With that said, I would still recommend it. If you're having trouble with your pup, give it a try. Seems like there is 50/50 chance your love will experience some relief and I don't know about the rest of you, but I've definitely wasted more money on far sillier things than the possible comfort of my best friend.

Unfortunately didn’t help timid puppy

I tried this for my puppy (at ages 11-14 weeks), who was really timid, scared of everything outside at that age, and hated the car. Hoped it might help calm his fears a bit, but I didn’t notice any changes in him. We just had to continue his training, environment conditioning and wait for him to get a little older to see improvement. Collar also smells enough that I could smell it when he was nearby. Not unpleasant, but noticeable. Some reviewers seem to have tried this product to help puppies having trouble adjusting to new home at night without mom and litter mates. Possibly works better for that and general calming.

Skeptical and then WOW!

Our 16 yo mini-doxie was with us visiting a home with 2 cats. He was extremely stressed and agitated by the situation. Opened the package and place collar on his neck. Within 1-2 minutes he was able to relax and lay quietly and calmly in his travel bed. NOT drugged out or sedated, just peaceful. Amazing! I plan to keep one available so he does not have to experience the upset of new situations for our sweet old dog man.

Caused my Havanese puppy to vomit

I put this collar on my Havanese puppy (11 months old) and vomited several time while riding in the car. I will never use a product likee this again.

It works if you use it correctly

When we first got our puppy we put this on her, she only cried in her crate the first night. After about a month she got very barky when in her playpen so we bought a new one and she calmed down again. When going to the vet, pet store, a friend's home, or even puppy class she listens and often lays down and just chills. It's been about a month again, she is now barking and being a lot more restless. I will be repurchasing. Note: I do use an adapter plug in next to her playpen and crate as well. I will try just replacing the plug-ins and not the collar to isolate them and judge their effect. I will update this review in a few weeks time. TIP: Make sure you buy it new, not used. Also, make sure it is close to their skin (two fingers should fit under the collar) and not too loose or it won't work. CON: The method of putting it on needs to be changed to a buckle system. When I take it off to groom her or bathe her it is a pain to put back on.

Nice Quality - Vet Recommended

This little collar was a suggestion from my vet for a stressed rescue pup. Goes on easily with the regular collar. I have no way of knowing if it helps (she suggested this with a non-prescription Solliquin tablet every day). Puppy is getting less stressed, but we are doing a lot of gentle exposure to different things too. For the money, worth adding to our system - I've only had it a month, will try to update this when we take it off, since I am not expecting to replace it once it "expires".

Not impressed

I normally use CBD oil for pets to help calm them and it works great. But it's not allowed on planes so I was searching for an alternative. My vet recommended an Adaptil collar to help with any anxiety my pets my have being in cargo for 32 hrs. So, I bought 4. They are good up to 30 days (at least that's what the company claims). This one for a puppy was the cheater of the four. Total I spent over a hundred. Money wasted. Its hurricane season on islsnd and with that daily storms. A tropical storm coming through so instead of using CBD oil. I decided to give the collars a try. Just to make sure they worked and they don't. First up our pitbull mix of 8yrs @ 70lbs hate storms. The collar did nothing to help calm him. Next my 7yr old @ 15lbs cockapoo saw no relief either. Follow by our Cat 1yr old. The cat is very vocal with a borderline of meanness. Hates to wear collars so that was an adventure one to hold and the other put on the collar. Nothing, zero change. I got scratched up for nothing. Ok, next up our 3 month old foster fail pup that has separation anxiety. He barks non stop when alone. Again the collar made zero difference. I am very disappointed with this product line. If I could get back all the money I wasted, I would. Save your money go CBD oil you won't be disappointed.
