Good practical watch

I've worn this style of Timex watch for the last 24 years. I got my first one when I was working in a factory and I needed to watch the clock so I wouldn't have to get there one second earlier than I had to. That is what this watch is good for, telling the time. It's not fancy or trying to make a fashion statement. It's just a good watch for working folks who need to get things done. Time, date/month, day of the week, alarm, stop watch and nobody has a better lighting system than Indiglo. What more do you need? The tabs where the watch band pins set in the case sometimes will break. I've had a couple of them do this through the years. You can usually get at least 6-7 years out of them before that happens and it doesn't happen every time. They are a cheap watch so it's to be expected. Just go buy another one. It would be nice if Timex would make these with a metal case and a harder crystal. They will scratch rather easily but it's not too big of a deal. The expansion band is nice and comfortable and it's easy to slide off and on for washing hands. Very light weight and comfortable. Just a good all around basic watch. The new black color is a nice touch. The typical silver and gold ones at Wal Mart look a little bit dated so I was pleased to see Timex celebrating their past and offering some new color options.

Bad clasp?

Watch is fine but the clasp is already loose after only a handful of snaps. It fell off twice last time I wore it out. Bummer.

Gold Tone Too Dark in Real Life

I found this watch to be a good size on my 6.75 inch wrist, and the bracelet to be comfortable. The greenish-yellow Day-Glo of the lcd works well with the “gold”. However, the “gold” is where my main point of contention lies. It’s too dark. I like both Casio and Timex and frequently buy both, but I think Casio has the more convincing shade of fake gold. In person, the Timex, especially paired with an actual yellow gold ring just wasn’t right. It’s just a bit too orange, and more so than pictures seem to show. Granted, you may be fine with the color if you don’t wear real gold near it. I may try a newer version of the T80 and see if it’s the same.

I got a lemon.

My T80 loses time, so I have to reset it 2 or 3 times a week. Of course Amazon refunded my purchase. Thank you Amazon. I called Timex, and they said my watch should only lose up to 30 seconds a month. I'm wearing it, I like it. Easy to set the time.

Could be great if it wasn't so showy

The band is really neat. It has no clasp and is somehow really stretchy despite being made of metal (I think the middle layer is made of aluminium?), so it's comfy and doesn't get dirty easily, but the problem lays in the dial. First off, it's absolutely tiny. The useless decoration around it takes up more space than the dial itself, and creates a shadow that covers the top half of the dial and makes it hard to read unless you have a light directly behind you; really poor design. For a watch that's supposed to be a "simple classic", its showiness is what does it in

Absolutely terrible quality from timex

I would give this ZERO stars if I could. For the price, one would expect half decent quality. Instead, there are serious flaws with these watches, they're made of plastic! Not only the body, but the "crystal" is a resin plastic material. This means the entire thing will scratch with very little abrasion. Absolute garbage from Timex.

Digital better than analog

I bought this watch for my elderly Dad as he was having difficulty using a standard analog watch and trying to figure out where the 2 hands were pointing. The digital display works great for him, and it takes the guess work out of telling the time. A few less buttons and functions would have been better for him, but it does the job quite nicely

Attractive design

Timex T80 has an attractive design with easy to read, uncluttered display. Unfortunately it was a little too small for my wrist. Further, the wristband was too narrow. Also the adjustment mechanism felt too flimsy. It kept sliding off while trying to shorten it.
