My new favorite!

I've got marble, porcelain and a steel alloys but this is my favorite. Also by far the most durable of my collection. I do wish that it was smoother inside and on mine the way that the pestle fits the mortar leaves a very slight gap when the bowl is angled which has lead to me adapting and grinding somewhat differently and shifting the contents a little more than with my others. That being said it does an Excellent job. Thanks to my cousin's curiosity, I even tried making rice flour with it. It worked and worked well! I think however I'll stick to using a blender for rice flour. Lol This for everything else.

Let the Pestle Do the Work For You

This little, cast-iron. mortar-and-pestle set is elegant, easy to use, and easy to clean. The weight and shape of the round pestle does the work of crushing for me with no strain to my wrist.

Black coating on pestle wore off right away

It looks and feels basically like you’d expect from the photos. Very sturdy. However the black coating started to rub off the pestle after just a tiny bit of grinding. Hope it’s not toxic.

Love this one.

Would absolutely buy again. Better than stone. More washable. I use for my precious woods and incense. So very useful for cleaning the palette between materials. Huge winner!
