Use 2 1/2” exterior screws. Otherwise great product.

I like the black color as most of these come in yellow. Save your fingers and buy 2 1/2” outdoor screws, instead of using the nails. It is way easier to install and it takes a fraction of the time. Nailing them puts your fingers at a tough angle.

These insulators do not "Extends the wire 2-1/2-inch from the ...

These insulators do not "Extends the wire 2-1/2-inch from the wooden post." The real distance is slightly under 2 inches. Possibly, this inaccurate description will be trivial to many, but in my case I searched widely to try to find combinations of insulators (wood posts, metal posts) that would permit a neat installation. Regardless one should receive what one orders.
