Good dexterity and durability

So far these gloves seem to be holding up well after a couple months of use. I’m hard on gloves, I do a lot of hobby projects around the house, and finding a good pair of gloves is a never ending quest. I picked these up looking for a pair that lasts longer than the last Mechanix brand gloves I grabbed (they were essentially disposable at $9-10/pair). These aren’t showing any signs of tearing, no seams pulling apart, no major failures yet after two months of hard use on nights and weekends. I don’t know how long they’d hold up for someone using them all day every day, but so far I’m pleased. These are cut resistance and fire resistant (one of the perks for me, but not mandatory) but this drives the price up pretty high. These gloves are on par with the price I pay for heavy duty, full leather Kunz gloves. The Kunz gloves are at least made in the USA, which these gloves are not, but these do have more dexterity than a full leather glove. If anything happens and I’m greatly impressed or disappointed in their longevity or performance, I’ll update my review.

Maybe too high of expectations?

In the last year, I have been in this sort of quest to find the best tig welding gloves on the market. What I needed was maximum heat resistance, heavy duty durability, and lastly good dexterity. I admit that this is a tough combo to find, and being on the hands of a welder in an iron shop is probably one of the worst fates a mechanics glove can face. I am constantly rubbing my hands over burred edges, picking up hot metal, and changing discs on my grinder at fast intervals. Anyways, on to the review of this particular glove. Pros: The dexterity is there for sure. I am able to pick up filler metal rods off of the concrete shop floor, which is usually the true test for me on how well these gloves maneuver. The wrist cuff is nice, and the leather seems to be of decent quality. They also resist the sparks sting quite well. Cons: I was expecting far more heat resistance from a $40 FR glove. These feel quite thin, which I suppose is to be expected with the amount of dexterity you get, however I can hardly run a single pass around a 6 inch pipe in these before my hand is burning up and I have to put down the torch. This was what I was most hopeful for in this product. All in all I know Youngstown makes a good work glove, and I have used some of their other products to satisfaction, these bad boys just don't make the full grade for me. If I was to offer some tips on how to improve these, I would double up the thickness of the entire palm to ensure better hot handling properties, and then I would extend the back of hand protection just a little bit more for heat radiating at your hands.

Very Nice

Update: since my OP below from Sep 2020. I have worn a hole at the tip of each if the thumbs, they still fit and feel good just have holes in thumbs not quite 2 years but they made it 1-1/2 yrs till wearing through. I still think that's good. I am a Communications Technician for a large MSO. We are out in the elements everyday all day, Climbing and Gaffing poles, up and down ladders and the bucket truck. And these kevlar lined gloves are great. I have been using them every day for the past 2 weeks and I can't believe how little they have worn in. They are holding up great so far and I will for sure be getting another pair and looking into getting a winter set as well. Highly recommend for anyone in the Utility industry.

Overpriced and underdelivered.

The shipping was faster than expected. The gloves fit well and are very comfortable. Dexterity is great with no excess on the fingertips. On paper these gloves sound perfect for what I needed. The price us high but if they lived up to the description then it would have been worth it. These gloves do not hold up against heat. I work with hot pipes that are often 400-475°F. Tested the glove on a 300°F pipe and the heat came right through within 2 seconds. The stitching across the palm instantly melted. 300°F against the back of the glove also comes right through just about instantly. The leather is soft and flexible which is nice for dexterity but will tear easily. The leather on the fingers is very slick and smooth, grip is diminished as a result. If these gloves actually did what they said then they would be worth the price. I think I would rather wrap a rag around my hand instead of use these for handling hot objects. :/

Runs small

Gloves look well made and materials feel good. Only issue is the fit. Both right & left gloves have adequate finger length but tight around hand. Both thumbs are short. I should have bought the XL.

Nice gloves fit right on..but u cant pick up even a pencil cause leather to thick on fingers.stitch is in the way.

Wouldn't dream of doing lighting without these gloves.

I do some heavey duty lighting jobs from time to time with Tungsten & hmi fixures and I couldn't imagine not using these. Only flaw is that trying to tie something together is not easy using these (think sash) but it does offer solid protection against high heat sources as well some minor scratches(like running your hand betweena rock and a hard place). Will always purchase if ever I'm in need.

Exelente calidad

Son los mejores guantes que he probado, lo malo es que no sirven para soldar con flux ya que las chispas si los queman. Es el segundo par que compro.
