Not a Great Hallway Light and Definitely Not for an Entryway

This light fixture is easy enough to install, and may be good for a short hallway. I however, got it for the longer hallway in our home that goes to the Northwest wing of the house and the amount of light this gives is nowhere enough to light up the hallway the way it should be. If you have an alcove to put this in or a short hallway, this may work. If you have an average to large size hallway, it won't be bright enough. Definitely isn't bright enough to use in an entryway (especially one with vaulted ceilings). It is attractive but not as attractive as it looks in the pictures. The design of it looks different in person than what can be caught in a photo. While it won't work in the hallway I had originally had my husband put it in, we are moving it in the little alcove/hallway leading to the laundry room off the kitchen. For that small area it's bright enough and I don't need anything really fancy there. It is more attractive than the old, flat glass ceiling light that was in that area, but I don't think I could use this in any real hallway in my home and definitely wouldn't put it in our entryway. Fortunately it is very easy to install (and uninstall and install again) so my husband wasn't too upset about putting it up and then having to take it down and move it to a different part of our home.

Missing the Pleasing Symmetry

ON the positive side this is easy to install. If you use an LED light you will get sufficient light. However I was disapaointed with the look overall. I was attracted to the symmetry. The design loked like starsand was somewhat reminiscent of Amish hex signs. Unfortunately that attractive blalance wasn't apparent in mine. It is okay but really does ot look like what is depicted.

Smaller than I expected

Somehow these seem smaller in real life than I expected from the promotional photos. The lamp is around the size of a basketball. Now that I look more closely at the pics, I can see they were faked: Noticed the curiously perfect geometry of the lamps. The second problem is that they don't put out much light unless you want to stare into a super-bright bulb. Also, ironically you can't put in a large decorative/vintage bulb because it won't fit through the triangles. Easy to install with a removable plate which you attach into the ceiling, and then screw in the lamp base with 2 thumb screws.

Good design but not real wood

It's a nicely designed pendant, it is metal but with a "barnwood" finish which looks fine from a distance but not so impressive from only a few feet away, so it's best in an area where it's high enough that people don't look at it closely. If it's hung closer to the ceiling it will cast harsh shadows on it unless you use a frosted bulb. Quality and build of the materials were good.

Single exposed bulb

Very cool looking light. One bulb inside is exposed so you’ll want to choose a nice looking bulb. It hangs from the ceiling with what appears to be burgandy rope. I think brown would have been more appropriate. 60W total.
