Over the years, I've broken my glass blender jar twice so I decided to get a metal one and rid myself of that worry. This jar is definitely safer, but not better overall. It's slightly less capacity than the glass one (not a big deal to me) but it seems wider as well. What this means is that the blades, which are already on the small side, don't reach the outside edges and hard, crushable items like ice or hot chocolate chunks "hide" along the edge and end up as rounded chunks in the mix. Blending hard items is significantly louder when they smack the inside of this metal jar. The glass jar was very thick and muffled those noises well. The motor is loud enough...now I'm practically sure my condo neighbor can hear it. There are no gradation marks except for a "max fill" line. It would have been nice to have indentations in the metal to signify the cup amounts and have these indentations visible from the inside. The clear "cap" on the lid doesn't seal well. If something is blended that creates dust/powder, this powder will creep out of two small tabs and dirty up the topside of the lid. It's possible that these tab holes are intentionally large to vent steam when blending hot liquids...but I'm capable of venting it myself, I'd prefer if the tabs sealed completely. Despite those criticisms, I'll continue to live with it. I still like knowing that it's sturdy, unbreakable, and safer. Edit: something happened with the product number of this item where my review is showing up on the glass jar version and not the stainless steel version, which I purchased and is the subject of my review.

Exactly like what came with my blender from the factory

My old cannister had lost its seal, and had been rebuilt once. Replacements seemed to be well over $100, so I just kept using it for years. Now, I found a much more reasonable price for the exact replacement I needed. Plus - it has a handle, which my original does not. It's wonderful to have a good, solid, fresh, functional replacement cannister for my professional Waring blender!

Can't live without this blender

Love this blender.... My father gave me the original for a birthday present several years ago. After much use and many protein milkshakes (a few margaritas too), the mechanism in the jar became extremely tight....and would freeze up regularly. We tried repairing but taking this thing apart is not for the mechanically challenged. We hesitated spending this much just for the jar portion but the motor portion of the blender was still running like a champ. I bit the bullet and ordered anyway. Since we haven't tried any other blenders in the past 5-6 years and while we were waiting for this jar to arrive, we purchased a few different brands in the $80-$100 range to test them out. What a joke!!! Even though they say they crush ice....THEY DON'T!!! Even the ones with the "ice crusher" mode.....BULL!!! Returned these other blenders quickly and just waited for the waring replacement jar to arrive. Such a difference......will never worry about the price again. It does what it's suppose to.....Thanks, Waring!!!

Perfect replacement, great price

This product was the perfect replacement for my vintage Waring Blender. All I needed was the glass, but it came with the blade and lid, and was the best price I could find. Celebrating the fast shipping with a home-made Margarita!

Excellent replacement

After 17 years and 1 dog who thought the blender was a Kong, it was time for a new container/blade This fits, works, and doesn’t leak. Very happy, and much cheaper then buying a new blender since the base works just fine.

Great, but check the fitting!

I was delighted to be able to replace the glass capsule of my Waring, but very relieved I hadn’t thrown away the broken one, as I had to use the connecting screw and entire blade assembly from my old unit as the replacement was entirely different. Swapping over the blade assembly wasn’t so easy either, with counter screw etc. Beware. But these devices are worth it. Nutribullet? Pah!

Good quality glass jug

The glass jug is perfect and just as good quality as my old one. However, just a reminder for anyone to keep the grey bottom piece that connects the jug to the base (as I stupidly threw that bit out with the jug that I broke!)

Check the fitting

I bought this jug to replace the jug of my 20 year old blender. The price to buy from the USA was far more attractive than UK prices - maybe £60 for the USA jug vs approx. £150-200 for the UK one Nothing wrong with the glass jug & lid, but it was not clear that the fitting at the base of the jug would not fit my Waring motor. Luckily my husband managed to remove the blades/fittings from my old blender jug & fit them onto the new one. I contacted Waring customer services twice & had no reply from them.

No information on the base fitting on Amazon when purchasing.

The jug is identical in every way to my damaged version, except it is completely useless, the fitting on the bottom is completely different so will never work with my base unit, and now I have to send it all back. (I have bought one before successfully, so this was unexpected, and very annoying.)
