Nice White Light

Tthis heavy duty bulb can be used indoors or if protected, outdoors. I first placed it in a goose neck craft lamp. It provided sufficient illumination and a nice white light that was pleasing. the light does dim as promised. I currently have it outside in a fixture designed to illuminate two sets of stairs leading to a porch. again, the white light provides decent illumination. somewhere between a spotlight and a flood light, it is a fairly concentrated cone of light. It doesn't quite extend to the base of the stairs but is sufficient for navigating without breaking one's neck These lights are pricey but I hope to realize savings on my electric bill over time. The bulb appears to be well made and so far has performed satisfactorily.

Daylight Version

I’m using this bulb (daylight version) in my foyer, where I really like it rather bright when I walk-in. There’s just one bulb overhead (recessed lighting) so that’s why it’s even more important to me for it to be bright enough to meet my needs. This one works perfectly. My only issue with this bulb is the current cost. I know LED is expensive, but it’s still a little high for me. TCP offers other bulbs in multi-packs at better overall prices. So you might have a look at multi-packs. I have tried a few TCP bulbs and really like them though.

LED Light Bulb Becomes Warm/Hot

This LED bulb comes in two light color versions, Daylight & Warm White, and I received the day light version which is rated at 5000 Kelvin, kind of medium, but more towards the cooler white side. Color of light is, of course, personal preference and where you want to use the bulb. As LED light bulb it works. Unusual for LED bulbs, this one gets warm or hot on use. And it is also towards the expensive side. At HomeDepot I got similar bulb for $14.

Not cheap but it will probably last longer than your light fixture/ It is heavier than most and heats up

I generally review entertainment products on Amazon but when Amazon offered this product in exchange for an objective review as part of its “Vine Reviewer” program (where they send the products to selected reviewers), I requested one since I use a lot of flood lights around our house. Upon taking it out of the package from Amazon I noted it was MUCH heavier than any of the other similar bulbs I have installed. But that’s not much of a concern. The package states that it will last over 18 years if used just 3 hours per day. So cost per day is really cheap. But, in my case I’m not sure I’ll be alive in 18 years – having recently retired – or that I’ll be in same house or that the light fixture itself will still be working! So the cost per hour is not as relevant as you might think. As another reviewer pointed out the bulb gets very hot and when wanted to revolve it, I had to wait a while. But that was only drawback I saw – besides initial price – especially if – like me – you have a strip of 4 flood lights in just one room. I hope you found this review both informative and helpful. Nice clean light on the front door, but not a good value

I'm using this bulb outside on a well protected front porch as the entry light above the front door. It offers a crisp, clean, bright light without any yellow or blue tinge. I think the "daylight" description on the box is acceptable. We haven't noticed any flickering or delay in the bulb lighting up after the switch is turned. For my purposes, this particular bulb is just right - it lights up the front entry clearly with no shadows and allows us to see who or what is out there at a glance. I do think the value is poor when compared to similar bulbs on the market - the current price is about double of many other brands and I don't think I will buy another of these at this price point.
