Jack back in the box is tough

This was cute but putting bunny back into the box is hard!!

Flimsy

this toy is cheap and flimsy. I can predict it will be broken in a week, the small green hook on the top will be first to break. The caterpillar of sorts that pops up is difficult to smash down in, causing frustration in the toddler. Music is very faint.

This is super cute. Little expensive for a jack in the box, and the caterpillar pops out like a second too late. But its still pretty neat

Child afraid of it !

The toy was one of several Christmas gifts for my 21 month old grandson. He loves the hungry caterpillar book but was afraid of this toy. However I think in time he might enjoy it so I’m just putting it up for a few months and will get it out later. It is very cute and very well made.

LO Loves this, the timing of the tune is a little off

Overall, 4 stars. I'm knocking one off because the "pop goes the weasel" doesn't line up with the actual "pop" so it's fairly anticlimactic. Luckily, Kiddo doesn't notice and has more fun pushing the little tab that released the lid more than turning the handle on the side. Go figure LO discovers the work around. (Future engineer???) Durability - the walls seem a little on the thinner side so I'm not sure about how it will hold up long-term. And the spring for the Hungry Caterpillar is a little wonky. However, I definitely recommend this and still buy it if I'd been able to check it out 'hands on' before purchasing it. Fun little music box and who doesn't love Eric Carle!

Handle is too thin

Super cute, toddler really likes the actual caterpillar (and stuffing it back in the box) but for some reason she can't turn the handle. Maybe if it were thicker? It's like it's too delicate for her (chubby) hands to work it.

Lame

I'm used to the jack-in-the-boxes from back in the day - where they really popped and gave a little surprise. This one has very little punch to it and just sort of opens softly. Doesn't pop open at all. I wasn't very happy with it and my 10 mo old grandson was a little bored by it.

Appalling Quality...

Such a rubbish buy and appalling quality! Do your kids a favour and do not buy. The mechanism is really flimsy, the caterpillar inside the box stank of stale water and to make things worse there was a really sharp bit of metal sticking out at the base as not cut properly. I would have sent it back but didn't think to keep the cardboard box it came in. It went in the bin.

Lovely toy, for all ages :)

This toy has brought hours of fun to all my children and secretly me too. The little handle is turned at whatever speed you like but the music matches your speed in its tempo. At a specific time the Caterpillar jumps up and of course everyone laughs. The quality is absolulty lovely with the Caterpillar being fabric and the box a tough and sturdy metal.

Expensive for what it is, a thin tin box ...

Expensive for what it is, a thin tin box with a colourful caterpillar in it. Obviously licensing costs are doubling the price of it so given the chance I'd buy a far cheaper item, especially as my weird boy child only likes to push it back in.

Lovely toy

Came earlier than expected box was damaged even though fradgile was written on it but product in perfect condition bought for daughter (5 months) for when shes a bit older however she does laugh when i show it to her.

I was finding it hard to find a good jack in the box and decided to buy this one as we have other hungry caterpillar items. It plays the pop goes the weasel tune. My son is trying to wind it round himself and is really interested in it.
