Excellent foraging toy

Have 6 parrots ranging from a Goffins cockatoo to blue and gold macaws so I know the importance of hook bills having toys they can destroy and I DO purchase the destructible kind as well (to give them variety) that they have to destroy to get to the goodies. So . . when the destructible foraging toys have all been foraged and destroyed (and I've cleaned up the mess) I whip this bad boy out. For MY benefit: There's no shredded mess to clean up, this toy cleans up easily (I chunk mine in the dishwasher when running a load on "regular" cycle) and I probably won't have to replace this toy for a good while. (I purchased mine several months ago and, except for the "cheesy" link, it's still going strong.) For my birds' benefit: This toy sparks my birds' curiosity making them exercise their little brains figuring out how to get to the goodies, multiple birds can forage simultaneously, they have the acrylic beads & discs to "fiddle with" afterward and something to swing on. I gave this item 4 stars because the link provided to hang the toy is "cheesy" and obviously for the benefit of the manufacturer. My macaws have this type link destroyed the first day and I either have to do some foraging myself to get a suitable link to rehang the toy. Either that or get some pliars and crimp what's left of the link is such a way that it won't come off the chain. This is a big turn off knowing the manufacturer, if they know ANYTHING about large parrots, would HAVE to know this link is for MEDIUM-sized parrots yet they stick it on a toy for large parrots.

can really take a beating

This toy is a great toy. My parrot gets a bit rowdy and wild with her toys at times. She is a blue fronted amazon, and she is extremely playful. I feel like this is an excellent toy to have for treats, and even food! Sometimes I will put in foods, that I experience great struggles with getting her to eat, and she will sometimes eat them more than if I had just put them in her food dish. I feel like these are pretty durable, because she will destroy a toy very quickly, and she loves to swing around on these sometimes. I have only had to replace it once after she chewed up some of the tops for the cups, but that was in a few years! These are worth the money, and super fun to have for your feathered friend. I feel like they stimulate their foraging skills a bit as well.

Great foraging toy

My cockatiel absolutely loves these type of foraging toy/feeders. Prefers to go around to this one & others I have like it, to forage for food. Keeps him busy & good for mental stimulation to have to use problem solving skills to spin it around & lift lid on each one to get food inside. I move it around a lot so it requires him to figure out how to climb around to get to it so it doesn't become too easy or boring.

We love this toy and this company

This is the second foraging toy we have bought from this company. Our cockatiel and conure love them. They are sturdy and easy to clean. I plan on purchasing toys from them as much as possible!

A pretty well built toy that did the trick for my eclectus.

This was the perfect foraging toy for my male eclectus. I wouldn't suggest it for bigger birds, or those birds that are basically vice grips with wings as the tops are dainty, but it hit the spot for my eclectus. fits great on the big cage I have, though I would like to have seen the attachment hook to be a bit bigger. the thing rotates around and makes it difficult for the birds immediately get at. the device doesn't tip to one side and spill if the bird lands on part of it, and the bird can see all the treats in the cups. I put in grapes, peanuts or fruit. There is an attachment at the bottom to put another toy on a chain, like a device I use that looks like an 8 inch peanut with holes to dispense peanuts. He has to climb down to get at that. Very well made, and safe for the birds from what I see. Irrelavant but fun to note, that this package arrived faster than expected with standard shipping in good condition :)

Could not withstand the parrot test

If you have a mischievous or overly curious medium to large parrot, this could work as long as you don't mind having it shredded. Unfortunately my Severe Macaw shredded this in 3 days.

Chain is weak

Good concept, poor product. The chains on this are very weak, my small cockatoo tore them up in no time breaking it. The cups are hazardous once they are loose, my Cockatoo got a toe stuck inside one of the cups. Thankfully no injuries. It is incredibly difficult to find toys that aren't made with cheap chains

This is a huge toy that one of my Senegals love. He loves that he can swivel it around to get to each cup or be a daredevil and hang from it while trying to get inside. These lids seem a bit sturdier that the other foraging toy I bought or at least this bird didn't eat the lids off the containers. It is big so you need to have a large cage to accommodate it.

Chain links are too weak. My cockatoo was able ...

Chain links are too weak. My cockatoo was able to pull apart the chain links and it fell apart. I repaired it, but it is just a matter of time before it is pulled apart again. The chain is too weak.
