Beautiful and sturdy however slightly heavy since its stoneware

This is a 3-month in review. I bought the Stone Lain 16 Pieces Two-Tone Color Glaze without Rim Stoneware Round Dinnerware Set during the Black-Friday sales. Our family consist of 4 members and all of us use these plate-wares everyday extensively. Delivery Normally when I order stuff from Amazon it arrives within a day or two, some may take maximum about a week. This one though came after a month wait and although I was expecting broken pieces within the shipment, surprisingly every single of the 16pcs came intact and unspoiled. The delivery box had chinese letters on meaning it probably was shipped directly from China? Eitherways glad that the pieces were intact. Durability Honestly I was half expecting them to break after seeing so many negative reviews, even though stone-wares are supposed to be heavy and robust. Out of packet build quality seems to be top notch, however I remembered seeing so many reviews with broken pcs of ware after micro-waving. Naturally we started to use the pieces inside microwave for 20-30s and gradually started to increase at around 1 min mark. To my surprise, not only do these pieces stay relatively cool even after 1min microwaving but I have yet to have any crack inside the micro-wave. Food does get warmed decently well too although it would struggle if the food is just out of the refrigerator. Nowadays though we warm food items on these plate wares for more than 1min30s inside microwave without experiencing any problems. Sturdiness These plates are heavy, so when they do bump on things they give out a deeper sound compared to thinner porcelain wares. Also I fear they may break thinner wears after accidental bumps since they feel so robust. Till now though haven't experienced any chips on the corners after extreme use. Also knifewares havent scratched on the surface of any plates yet, atleast not visible to eye. Cleaning We dont use the dishwasher, only hand-cleaning. These are extremely easy to clean since left over food dont seem to stick on them at all. Overall, extremely satisfied with the purchase and would recommend, however I am still aware that Im lucky to have them shipped over without any broken pieces. So I cannot comment on the customer service aspect.

A Great Set!

These are great. Heavy and I really like them because they don't come out of the microwave scolding hot. When I got mine one of the salad plates was chipped and I didn't want to send them back. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a new one out. They DO fit in the dishwasher just fine. A great set!

Good looking, durable, and useful plates, bowls, and coffee mugs.

I got my set yesterday. It was well packed, sent in 2 boxes which was nice because these dishes are heavy. I did not have to carry a whole set of dishes for 8 people all at once. Looks like each box has the same thing, half in one and half in the other. I only opened one box for now since I am going to figure out what to do with my old mismatched set and wash all the new ones in the dishwasher at once. Yes, they say dishwasher safe and microwave safe on the bottom of each piece which was one of the things I demanded from my new set. There are 8 lipped dinner plates, 8 well lipped salad plates, 8 nice deep bowls, and 8 nice feeling solid coffee cups. The high lips on the plates looks pleasing but the main reason I like them is because any gravy or liquid stays in them instead of running out easily when transported. I'd say the lip is at a 70 degree angle and is maybe half an inch high. They don't have that flat gradual increasing long lip that the majority of plates tend to have. I guess this makes them look more modern if that makes sense. They are heavy, but not too heavy and comfortable to handle. I've held plates before that were so heavy, they felt odd and others so light they could be a makeshift frisbee. These are "goldilocks" weight in my opinion. The bowls are my favorite piece. The pretty bowls we have been using hold maybe half a cup to a cup of liquid if you are careful not to spill. The bowls that came with this new set are deep! If you eat soup often or are a cereal and milk person you will love the depth. Even an icecream sundae for 2 would fit in these bowls. The pieces look nice and don't have any cracks in the glaze or strange looking areas that didn't dry or cure properly. They are fully coated with paint/glaze except for the bottom ring that touches the table surface giving it texture so it resists sliding around on surfaces. The only downside I can see is something I had to think deeply about in order to come up with: That textured ring on the base may scratch tables without a protective finish. If you inherited your grandma's antique table or have a table that scratches easily, invest in some placemats or use a tablecloth or a glass table protector. They are heavy enough to stay put under normal use, but if you have kids who scoot plates around the table, be aware. Kids will find a way to demolish, scratch, or tear up anything anyway nomatter what it is. This is no concern for me though, but just an opinion for anybody who may come across this potential issue. Beaides, many plates or bowls etc. have some texture anyway, but since these are "stoneware" the texture may be more pronounced due to the durability of them. Durability is a good thing! Also a potential issue which comes with any dense well made plate is the heat retention after the piece comes out of the microwave or drying cycle of the dishwasher. I have had good results with stoneware in the past though, so no biggie if this happens. Let it cool or use a pot holder after microwaving. I like that food will stay somewhat warm when plated or in a bowl and the lips look thin enough that they will cool down while the bottom which is thicker should keep food from cooling down quickly. So I guess that is a positive with a potential negative if that makes sense. So I think that's all I can think of to speak about except that the pieces look nice and the blue paint/glaze is pretty uniform and seems tough and I like it. They are not shiny like many glazed pieces can be which, I like. Looks like the finish will hold up to heat from the microwave or dishwasher without getting those fine cracks in the glaze or final paint cover. These are durable, useful, attractive, well painted, and just well made pieces. I will update this after more usage after I put the pieces through the microwave and dishwasher a few times. If I don't update this, then all is good and I had no issues.

Good set!

The dishes came packaged well and sturdy like advertised. So far I haven’t noticed the scratching like some reviews said. They are microwave safe but get very hot so be careful taking them out once you r heated your food!

coffee cups and small plates are very small

i just unpacked my dishes and washed them today. the color of the dishes is nice, plates have a nice heavy feel to them, but the size of the coffee cups and the smaller plates are very small, and the plates have a nice raised rim tho the rim is not as high as the photos online make them look I wouldn't recommend these dishes for younger children who plop dishes down in the sink or over load the dishwasher where they clank around but for responsible people old enough to take care of the dishes they seem to be great.

I was looking for a set of dishes for our rental property. 6 nicely sized dishes and sandwich plates. Huge cereal/salad bowls, small desert bowls ( smaller than expected) and coffee cups --- again regular size but I drink coffee out of mugs, so these seem small. Nice quality and pretty ivory color will go with any decor. Dishwasher safe. After 4 months of daily use, no knife scratches. I am pleased. Good value for the price. I wish there were additional serving pieces, but I like mixing things up so have purchased large serving platters in various colors from other vendors. Overall, very pleased and would purchase again

Beautiful and high quality

I wasnt sure what to expect ordering a dinner set online without seeing it first but i was pleasantly suprised. The plates have a turned up edge to stop things spilling over the sides. The photos really dont do it justice its beautiful. They a quite heavy solid pieces of high quality. Would love another set in a different colour to mix and match as they are all so lovely. Arrived in perfect condition and was packaged well. I order this from the US and im in the UK so was worried about breakage but they arrived in perfect condition. Thank you

Received with one broken item

One broken cup upon arrival. Not unexpected. Just wish there was an option to replace /receive extra for that instead of a full return. Way-fair is better for this and will send the one item as replacement.

These plates get easily scratched

The first time we used it, I noticed the plates got scratched by the fork and knife. In one week of use, they looked like in the picture. The more we use more scratches we get. I know plates are supposed to wear off with time, but it was pretty disappointing they looked that bad so soon.
