Better than Coleman
I use this as a heater when ice fishing. You can set the flame to full or barely there, whatever it takes to keep you warm. Coleman only has 2 settings, low or high and costs $10-$15 more.

Much better than Coleman products.
Just back from a one week camping trip where we used two Stansport single burner stoves for at least two meals per day as well as additional coffee breaks and heating dishwater. After having problems with various Coleman stoves, both multi-burner and single burner, I chose this model due to the consistent good reviews on Amazon. The fact that the stove doesn't take much room makes it a winner when packing a passenger car with a week's worth of camping gear. A huge plus was the overall stability of the stove. The combination of the stabilizing feet and wide burner easily handled an 8 qt. pasta pot and a 12" cast iron pan. Burner output was as good as any camp stove, and better than many. It quickly heated coffee water, heated 3-4 quarts of water for pasta quicker than most camp stoves. Additionally the heat control was superior to a number of Coleman propan stoves used over years more reflecting the temperature control of home stoves. This was particularly noticeable when using a cast iron pan, which once heated requires a low, steady heat. A few additional notes: The Stansport single burner stove comes packed in box that is adequate to store the stove in. The base fits over the bottom of the burner providing some protection for the brass nipple that fits into the 16 oz. propane tank. Stansport provides a small protective plastic cup that snugly fits into the female propane fixture of the burner protecting the nipple that pushes into the tank. Unlike other customers my two stove burners were perfectly level and in the future will perfectly hold a two-burner cast iron griddle. I did notice when I set it up at home that I had not seated one propane tank fully in it's base and had the appearance of a bent burner. Once I double checked that the tanks were firmly seated problem was solved. Overall I'm very pleased with the quality of this product.

Nice one burner
I purchased the Coleman one burner bottle top propane stove last year for just under $20. This year that same stove is very near to the $40 mark. I decided to try the Stansport model this time around for a couple of reasons, one being the price which is right at $25. I decided some time ago that the connection I felt toward Coleman had dissipated with time, mostly due to the downward spiral of the quality of their products. Just my opinion. This Stansport single burner propane stove is nice. If you're looking for this type of burner my feeling is that you will be pleased. Can't beat the price. My family always used Coleman when I was a kid (about the only game in town) and they were great stoves. Lots of time has gone by. I'm sure the original company has been purchased by others who don't seem to care about past quality. These days if a person makes a purchase based on a name that was trusted in the past it's a disappointment in many cases. I wish I had purchased the Stansport last year and then I would have two stove with decent flame control instead of just one.

Sturdy, good temp range
I have had many camping and backpacking stoves over the years. Most have been high maintenance and unreliable. While I haven’t used this one long, I am impressed by its solid build, convenience, power, and variable temp. control. I look forward to this being my new car camping go to. Negatives: the brand sticker was slapped on badly (crooked and wrinkled) and was a bitch to get off. The adhesive would surely have lasted a long time if left alone (the only thing that worked finally was soaking it in vegetable oil for 4 hours). Also, it doesn’t come with a carry bag or windscreen, both of which I’ve purchased separately, meaning the cost goes up. Still, for half the price of crappy unreliable Chinese-built Coleman stoves, and a tenth the price of some fancy complicated backpacking stoves that just blast at one temp., this is a great deal.

Bargain stove that cooked meals after Hurricane Irma
This is a review of the Stansport Single Burner 10K BTU propane stove. Overall I'm quite pleased with this stove. As far as I can tell, it's exactly the same as a model from Coleman but about 5$ less expensive. After Hurricane Irma, I used this stove on a daily basis for three days. After power was restored, I gifted it to a family member and bought another as a replacement. It's easy to assemble, stable and strong enough to support a good sized kettle. It's not as compact as other camping/backpacking stoves but the size is the advantage. When lit, heat is ample to boil water in a few minutes. With a decent frying pan, it cooked up scrambled eggs and pancakes without burning (which can be a problem with smaller stoves that cannot bear the weight of a proper frying pan). Main downsides: No sparker and the finish turned a rusty brown pretty quickly.

Great bang for the buck
I can't complain about this item. Our friend had a portable charcoal grill and had trouble keeping it lit. This little thing came to the rescue. The base itself works great and is steady enough to hold the cheap Walmart skillet I used to fry up some breakfast. Brought it on a camping trip with my son and it has served us well. It's worth buying one for each trip but thankfully it's lasted us so even if it decided to quit on us I would have no problem buying another. The base doesn't seem to grip the propane tank very tight but it's not a total deal breaker as long as you have some ingenuity to make it work (like some tape).

Much more stable than it appears
This actually worked out a lot better than I thought it would. When you see the photo of it here, it doesn't look like it would be very stable but surprisingly, it is! Even on an uneven surface (we were camped on a hill), it was very steady. I cooked a large pot of spaghetti on this (on a hill) and was amazed that it didn't tip over. It's quite tall with the propane canister and looks scary but the burner is heavy and held the pot steady. I'm still not sure if I can or will use a cast-iron skillet on it but I should probably try to see what sort of results I get. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised that this turned out to be much more stable and heavy than I initially believed.

Flame Control
I like the amount of btu's it gives out. Can boil water in a small kettle less than 5 minutes. You can bring the flame down a very low simmer and doing can fry eggs without over cooking them. Can heat up a skillet to a smoking point to sear a steak. Make sure you check your 1 lb cylinder for leaks before you use it. The stand could be better to a point where I like to see it lock in to the cylinder as a safety from not falling over but I never had it happen. Cooking for longer periods of time the neck of the burner connecting to the cylinder does get warm so becareful. Let it cool off.

Simple and space saving, balances an 8in frypan on top which can fit a lot of food and is quite stable, and powerful too, the only thing missing i feel is the wind shield for those windy days that you get in way more expensive camp stoves, nothing you can't block by setting it by a tree or standing between the stove and the way the wind blows
