Really helps with tough to reach copper pipe areas

I used it to repair a very old copper pipe with dents. The pipe does need to be round. And, it was in an area where it was tough to sweat the pipe. So, cut off the old sweated connection, cleanup the pipe and use this adapter to connect my water heater. Very easy.

Worth every penny! We should not soder anywhere close to plastic fittings so these shark bites are perfect for the job and fast to apply! I used flexible pipe with them! Loved!

Easy to install

Replaced my old water softener. Needed new connections. These made the job quick and simple. Removed the old, installed the new fittings, cut the PEX to length and pretty much done. Be sure to use Teflon Paste when connecting brass to plastic it's a must.

Last part iI needed to comment PEX to my new water softener

I went from 3/4” copper to 3/4” PEX using a SharkBite coupling and then used this SharkBite adapter to connect the PEX to my water softener. This allowed me to have a little flexibility with my final reach between the copper pipe and water softener and I can also give the final connection a twist if it’s not tight enough.

Amazing product

Amazing product soiled seal no leaking. simple quick attachment. Pay attention to how to prepare a metal pipe before connecting. I love this product.

One serious flaw, I can't be the only one

No matter the tape or dope used, these would not seal to the water softener outlet which are very standard brand to brand. Why? The Sharkbite has a tapered seat! Soft water outlets are flat so if you can crank it down tight enough with enough tape you may get it to seal, but you really shouldn't do that with brass to nylon. This took a 20 minute job and turned into hours of messing around until I went to the plumbing supply store and got a couple of WolverineBend that have flat rubber gaskets and they sealed the first time. You should never stress nylon with any type of metal fitting as it will put bad stress on the nylon threads eventually leading to failure. Hard pass.

They just work, period!

These fittings can be a little spendy, But they work perfectly, are easy to install and can easily be reused with the removal tool.

Became weaker over time

Great product to begin with. Used it to connect hose to pig waterer and the connection was strong. However after a month the connector became weak and would not hold with much pressure.
