Sturdy Build

I hadn't started my boat for a couple of months. My late husband was the one who took care of it in the past, and I haven't had much interest. When I went to start it this week, it wouldn't go. It would crank but seemed like it wasn't getting fuel. I'd read that fuel lines don't last forever, so I thought I'd try a new one. I have a Sceptre brand fuel tank for the outboard motor (Evinrude 40 HP) and thought I'd buy the same brand for the fuel line assembly. At first, with this new fuel line, I still couldn't get it going (it had run OK a couple months ago). Then a neighbor showed me that I had the female connector backwards (upside-down?) at the fuel tank attachment . Duh. He flipped it 180 degrees and it just made a nice snap sound as it locked into place. The boat started right up. It would be nice if it were impossible to attach it the wrong way, (idiot-proof) for those of us completely ignorant/inexperienced in such things, but other than that, it seems well-built. The previous hose was a 5/16 size and this one is a 3/8", but the proper connectors are the thing that matters, I guess. It works fine.
