Very fun

This game is so fun to play with adults and children! You gotta get creative so there isn’t any repeat from the previous rounds. I would highly recommend

Pretty fun

This game is actually pretty fun. I have never played the original scattergories but went with this one cos it was a bundle w another game. My 2 oldest really like this one. It's a lot of fun & nerve racking when you only have 30 secs to think of something. Maybe later I'll buy the original too but for now we're having fun with this version.

Portable Scattergories - great idea!

I host a monthly game night and also do a lot of camping, so I like to have a wide variety of games available, but don't like having large game boxes to store or take with me when I camp. I also like games that are the quick play type, esp. if kids are playing. This is a good substitute for the regular Scattergories game that doesn't require any writing or that annoying timer ticking away. There's an "I Know" card that is placed in the middle of the table along with a deck of subject cards and a deck of letter cards in a handy tray. To start the game a subject card and letter card are flipped over. The first person who slaps the card, says "I know" and gives an immediate and acceptable answer takes one of the two cards and another card is flipped over, so either the subject stays the same or the letter stays the same until someone eventually takes that card. Once one of the two decks is finished, each player counts his/her cards and the one with the most cards wins. Simple. I like that it has a tray to keep the subject and letter cards separate. With regard to my ranking of "durability" I gave it an OK rating, but I did that with the idea that kids often lose cards or otherwise mess them up. If adults are the primary users of this game I'd give it a higher rating. It's not really educational as much as it requires quick thinking. To make it fair, it's probably a game that's best played by all kids or all adults (say age 16 and up) so the playing field is more equitable. Overall, it's a fun, portable, easy and quick game to play that anyone over the age of 10 or so could enjoy. I agree with another reviewer who noted that if only 2 people are playing this game frequently it could get a bit repetitve over time, but if 4 or more people are playing it a few times a year it's a lot of fun.

Fun game good for travel

This is a fun game that easy for travel. It has great questions and is small enough to fit inside a medium-sized purse. I bought this for a family trip with my nephews to play at the pool, in the car, or at night before bed. We all enjoyed it. It was also reasonably priced and arrived very quickly.

FUN FOR ALL AGES...

Fun game to play for all ages! I purchased the game to play when family was home for the holidays. My adult daughter and myself played, because no one else was in the mood to play a game. We had so much fun, laughing and getting "creative" with our answers. Soon my husband and my daughter's fiancé wanted to join us. We had fun playing, could easily play with young children too.

Super fun

This is a fast-paced, fun game for the family (we range from ages 10-40). We had a blast playing last night and laughed hysterically throughout! The only reason I give 4 stars is because it's hard not to "recycle" answers for some of the categories after a couple of rounds (really, how many "things that fly" can you come up quickly with that start with the letter B?). I would love to see an expansion pack with more category cards.

Such a fun game

Bought this and played with family ranging from 12- 50 and we all had a blast. Great vacation game and goes quick plus travels well. Very happy with this purchase.

Good game. not the best packaging

The game is great but the elongated cardboard box they come in (not like the photo, where it is square) is awkward and too shallow to fit the cards comfortably, so they need to be pushed in and cannot be neatly stored in two piles. I don't know why they changed the packaging (from the above) but it is probably the silliest decision--the cards can slip out of the box when packed and when opened, and the box is too small for them and so will likely tear soon. Just a pity. Because the game itself is lovely. I play it with children of upper elementary and middle school, and do so in all kinds of combinations and rules (not just the 'official' rules) and it is a great fun for all. Can make it harder or easier, pair game or group game or competition against time. Very nice.
