Great small space single station press
I needed a single station press to deprime and resize brass in the living room seated in my recliner. The RCBS multi press base makes it ideal to mount to a TV Tray table. So far I have resized and deprimed 4,000 pieces of brass. I wish RCBS would improve the spent primer catching capability to pass them down through ram into a bottle screwed to the bottom of the ram.

Good accessory to accompany an existing press
This might due for a stater press, but it's a bit lightweight for resizing some of the cartridges I reload. For me it works best as an accessory press for light duties such as decapping, belling, and bullet seating. It's a good buy however you use it!

Not for decapping; disappointed in RCBS
I bought this press primarily for decapping and swaging .223/5.56 brass and to supplement a Lee Classic turret press. The press is solid and I'm sure it will last a long time, especially given my intended purpose. However, I cannot recommend this press as a good solution for decappping or priming; maybe I'm just spoiled by my Lee press. The design for decapping on this press is its most disappointing aspect. The press comes with a primer catcher that is supposed to "snap" onto the frame. Either I received the wrong part (not likely) or this is a feeble attempt at including a part with the right name but that is not at all functional. It doesn't "snap" into the frame, it doesn't stay put, and it doesn't reliably catch primers even if you hold it in place (it popped off on its own about a minute after I took the attached picture). A quick internet search tells me the primer catcher has been useless for years. I found many examples of homemade solutions that should work fine (search for "loadertools partner press primer catcher"). The manual doesn't show the primer catcher installed in any of the photos (only in the parts diagram) so they obviously don't like it either. Yes, this may be a minor thing for many, but how RCBS considers this design remotely acceptable to me makes me question the quality of anything they make. The primer arm is not attached from the factory. According to the supplied instructions, the user must first install the primer arm pin by "gently" tapping the pin into the press frame with a small hammer. In my experience, gently tapping the pin didn't work, I needed to use a full sized hammer with some good whacks to get the pin in. Be careful not to damage the pin head while doing so. The user will also need to install the appropriate sized primer cup. None of this is a big deal but I'm disappointed this wasn't done at the factory and left for the user to do. The primer cup snags and gets stuck on the shell holder if you raise the primer cup through the shell holder without a shell. Although you will typically have a shell in the shell holder while reloading, it's disappointing that this happens and you have to stop and fix it. The good news is that the RCBS primer pocket swager does work fine. Hopefully the aftermarket primer catcher I ordered will allow me to use this press as intended. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't buy this press. I'm thankful it wasn't my first press or I may have given up reloading. This is most likely the last RCBS product I purchase.

Not as good as it looks on paper
I bought this as a replacement for a Lee press, and use it exclusively to deprime 9mm brass. First and foremost, the spent primer catcher is complete rubbish. The vast majority of primers will end up on the floor. If you purchase this product, just expect to be purchasing an aftermarket primer catch system (3D printed, usually found on Ebay). My second largest gripe with this product is the retaining rings on the linkage arms. They do not keep the handle links tight thus, the handle will get "floppy". RCBS recommends using a hollow punch over the retaining rings and lightly tap with a hammer to tighten them up. Firstly, finding a hollow punch of the correct size is problematic. I have yet to find one, and using a standard punch will not suffice. Secondly, this is just another added expense to the purchase of the press. I will end up replacing all of the link pins with traditional shoulder bolts; which is what RCBS should have used in the first place. Things I do like: The length of the handle affords ample leverage for stubborn cases. The materials used in construction (sans retaining rings) seem to be robust enough. Is it worth spending more than double the price of a Lee Breach Lock Press? Not really.

Good little press, only one issue for me......
Love this little press. Works great for my pistol, 45-70, and 223 reloading and has plenty of leverage left over. I'll have to try it on some larger rifle (270 or 30-06) to see how it does but haven't tried it yet. The primer catcher leaves some to be desired unfortunately as many primers miss the bin and you end up playing 520 pickup. Also works great with the RCBS mounting plate as you press mounts right next to your powder measure making it very convenient. I'm not sure what the reviewers are saying about a plastic handle as mine is steel and pretty hefty. The ball on the end of the handle is plastic (maybe that is what they are referring to) but it is a heavy plastic like the other RCBS presses and unless you are using it to drive nails I cant foresee any breakage problems. Even if it does break its not an issue anyway, its lifetime warranty anyway and RCBS has good customer service. If something does break give RCBS a call and they will have replacement on the way in no time.

the Partner is an excellent choice to take to the range for resizing while ...
I purchased the Partner press to supplement my RCBS Rockchucker press for general work that helps to avoid some of the die changes that slow down production with the main press. I mounted the Partner on a base that I clamp to the bench top and so far I have used it to deprime fired cases, full-size fired PPC cases and expand new case necks for neck turning. Because of its light weight, compact size and portability, the Partner is an excellent choice to take to the range for resizing while developing loads. Especially because of its price point, the Partner is a "best buy" for new reloaders as well as experienced reloaders with a need for a second press, but I gave it four stars instead of five because I have trouble with the spent primer catcher. It works, if it stays in place, but is easily dislodged, causing the primers to fall to the floor. I gave up and put a bucket on the floor under the press to catch the primers. That works.

Not a steel frame.
The design of the press is pretty good. Compact and light weight. But the frame is made of some kind of soft aluminum or zinc so the steel ram binds and galls on the frame. Yes, it is lubricated properly. No it is not warped from mounting poorly. A few strokes and the oil is full of metal powder. When this wears a bit more will the ram still align with the dies properly? I say pass on this model and get one with a steel frame.
