Pretty decor for fishtank

Bigger than expected

I bought for my beta fish tank. It was bigger than expected. The first one I received was broke but they sent me a new one after sending the broken one back

Smaller Than Expected, But Good Quality.

I gave this product 4 out of 5 stars, because it is smaller than it seems and there's a few key aspects not mentioned in the product description, so read on. The castle measures just over 5.5 inches in height, just under 8.5 inches in length and 3 inches in width (width measured at the bottom). From the picture you can't tell, but the main two windows only measure 1/2 an inch in width and .75 in height, so only small fish can fit through. Also, the top of the towers have very SMALL openings, about the size of a dime, so again, very small fish might be able to fit through. The openings do not have sharp edges, so no need to sand them. The overall construction is actually very good, sturdy and nicely painted. If you plan to mod it somehow, you'll need a precise and strong tool, I would guess some kind of Dremel attachment. It's made of some kind of hardened plastic. I ended up not using this castle in my aquarium, because it looked too small in it. I have a 50 gallon, oval shaped glass aquarium, so it has more height than length. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

It's enchanting! It provides enrichment for my little beta fish "Petunia" She loves swiming in and out of it and sleeping inside of it. It's adorable -- looks like something you'd find in a children's story book. Add different plastic plants and different colored rocks, it's so much fun!

Paint sheds off, absolute garbage & waste of money

After a few weeks I noticed the paint started to shed off, flaking everywhere and clouding the water. I really loved the gargoyle castle design, so I repurchased it thinking maybe I damaged the paint when I had scrubbed off some algae. Same thing happened again, and this time there was definitely nothing to cause it other than poor quality. Don't waste your money. Absolute garbage.

Good quality, small opening

This has held up better than other, more expensive tank decorations, and it's very pretty. There is a little gem in it, which delights the little girl who is responsible for the fish. Considering the amount of space it takes up, the castle itself has a small opening and a lot of dead, dark space in the top--it would be better with an additional top opening, maybe just on one side. Our betta can fit inside, but almost never goes in (but he isn't very interested in hiding places anyway.)

aquarium fortress castle

this castle is a beautiful piece for stand alone in a small tank or with other pieces in a large tank. the open interior is ideal for live plants to take root or for small fish to find dark shelter. from new this is a nice looking castle and maintains its looks for years to come. injection molded and hand painted to a natural look and feel. we use this castle in a small(10 gal.) tank with live plants and tetras(small generic fish). make sure and always give the water plenty of time to aclimate Ph, temp, O2 and micro-bacteria after all ornamwnts and rock are in for at least two weeks before adding fish and plants to promote health and longevity of life in your tank as some ornaments and/or rock adjust these levels and can stress or harm fish. make sure and physically measure your tank or area before purchasing pieces to avoid crowding.
