It's only slightly more sturdy than a cardboard box would be.

You get splinters as a bonus though. Someone is getting rich of of this cheaper-than-pressed-wood useless merchandise. I don't even know what they call this wood. It's like someone took bamboo, colored it, squished it flat, made little rectangle shapes and then glued the stuff together 1mm thick one two sides of it. The locking mechanism broke too as soon as I touched it, came right out of the wood where it screwed in. But yeah, it is some sort of pressed and also very thin wood.
