This is the way

I've been through about a half-dozen beard trimmers. This is THE ONE. Yeah it costs a bit more. Welcome to adult life. This thing is built like a tank, requires very little maintenance, has great battery life, and is INSANELY PRECISE. The metal guard does not flex under any circumstance, which means it won't bend to increased pressure, which can alter trim height. This is an example of a small detail making a big difference. Also, the selector dial allows very small increments, so you can dial-in your exact setting every time. So - yes it's more expensive, but in this case, you get what you pay for. I'll buy this exact model again when this one dies, which will approximately 200 years from now judging by its build quality. Just buy it and stop reading reviews. For real.

Realized what I had been missing in my life

I have been using Wahl clippers with multiple attachments for so long. The attachments increase at a rate that is a lot more than I would want if I need a fade on my beard. The increments in this device is at 0.4mm granularity which is perfect and what I was looking for. Also, I do not need to fiddle with changing attachments or wires. The only thing missing is probably a vacuum that sucks the hair instead of putting it all around you. The machine is powerful and the hair flies a lot farther than I expected. I did end up buying a beard apron hoping to catch as much of the flying hair I can. There is no pull on the hair and hence does not hurt even at the lowest setting. I love it.

No more Trim Procrastination! Wife approved!

I waited too long. Wayyyy too long to try out another beard trimmer. I’ve been using a OneBlade as both a trimmer and shaver for 6 years now. I would dread trimming my beard with it; the OneBlade was slowwww, would clog up, would sometimes pull on my hair. I’d go weeks without shaving (at my wife’s disgust). Finally I broke down and bought this trimmer hoping it would break my bear trimming procrastination; It did. This trimmer is pretty to look at and has some heft… ok… but the trim? It was crazy great compared to my old OneBlade. In one quick motion I removed a remarkable and cleanly cut portion of my very thick and long beard as if it were nothing. I couldn’t help but smile and become giddy! It was the best beard trim I’ve ever had (including from barbers). I ended up finishing my trim in a record time of just a few minutes including neck touchup with my OneBlade (the only downside to the 9000 - can’t do a close shave). With then OneBlade I literally would take a break in the middle. Easily 15+ minutes. If you’ve been having beard trimming procrastination for years, do yourself a favor; Buy this freaking trimmer.

Good, but not perfect

I purchased this beard trimmer mostly because of its ' dial a length ' settings - seemed much easier than storing and changing pieces. That works pretty well and is easy, but there is not much difference between any 2 or 3 settings. The other problem is there is no room in the travel case for the charger - that would be ok for short trips, but could be an issue for longer ones.

Quality build and professional operation.

The moment you open it you notice the quality of the materials. Metal body (with some plastics) and a powerful motor that shaves effortlessly and fast with no pulls. Worth the money. I was buying $20 units every two years; if they lasted that long. This unit shaves twice as fast. In the long run it will save money. You need this one.

You get what you pay for

Good trimmer that is specific to beards and facial grooming. It is not as heavy as other users have said. It is precise enough and has good cutting power without getting cuts and bruises. Even used it for a little chest and arm grooming and it was like 9/10 for me. If you do your own fading and marks on your face you may want to pair it with a T-line precision machine for best results.

Totally worth it

I used a cheap Norelco for years. My old one died, and I couldn’t find anything that was similar to it — especially with the easy no-attachments adjustable length dial. I travel a lot and I don’t want to deal with different clip-on guards. This model is pricier but wow is it worth it. Extremely precise, washes directly under running water, solid metal construction, and still good size for traveling. Plus, I appreciate the lock feature that prevents it from turning on when compressed in my luggage. Recommended.

Works awesome until..

I love the trimmer. Not having to change plastic guards is awesome. The dial is solid and you know it won’t move while you’re shaving. One thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that you don’t get a very close shave when you’re trying to shave down to the skin. I had a wahl peanut razor before this and I find myself using it to shave my neck and cheeks to get that clean look instead of this one. Now I have two razors to do the same job.

WHAT A SHAVING EXPERIENCE!!!

When you pay for quality, you get quality! Feel like the Cadillac of trimmers. I just received mine today. The metal handle and blades make for a sensational shaving experience. Even the plastic comb (for longer lengths) doesn't feel like a plastic comb at all, because it is so well made and solid. With the beautiful case it would make for an amazing Christmas gift to receive. I just haven't figured how to use the oil that comes with it yet, I think you need to make a small hole, I'll have to read the manual tomorrow. Definitely the best shaving experience I've had!!!

Well Worth The Money

Been a Philips/Norelco beard trimmer user since I could grow a beard and usually I get around 5 years of use before the plastic guides eventually break or crack. This model is built like a tank and the plastic attachment will definitely last for the lifetime of the razor. With regular cleaning and oiling the blades - I could see this trimmer lasting well over a decade. Only suggestion to the manufacturer would be that the travel case could fit the charger.

Excellent

Have been cutting my own hair since the beginning of the pandemic, and this is the best tool I've used. The metal comb is really good at getting fine hair - very precise and lots of adjustment. No bulky bag of attachments either, the one that is included has everything I need. Nice tidy little package for travelling too. Battery life is generous - will run for an hour on a single charge. One downside - this is not the best tool for really thick hair. Better to use a plug in barber shop style clipper for that.

Metal guard makes this the most effective trimmer I have ever used

Solid construction and feels very premium. The metal guard means this gives the most accurate and consistent cut of all the trimmers I have previously owned - I can’t believe I put up with flexible plastic guards for so long. Note this doesn’t have a “zero” setting so it’s not suitable for detail - I keep a traditional disposable razor handy for this. Definitely not a deal breaker as the rest of the cut is so accurate.
