My dogs now drink too much water

For years we had to fill up the water bowl for our 2 dogs several times a day. At first the dogs didn't understand they could just keep drinking and would wait by the bowl when they were thirsty and I'd have to point at it to make them realize they literally had gallons left. It took almost a week for them to go through it, but now that they know it's freely available I end up having to fill it up every couple of days and they need to go outside much more frequently. It's definitely heavy when filled up, but that's to be expected. After a time or two you'll figure out how to install it without spilling any.

Good vs Bad

Bad: I highly recommend not following the directions on flipping it with the bowl top part on, because you don’t realize how heavy it actually is and the cheap plastic of the bottom slips out. So I highly recommend just flipping it on top of the bowl that’s already set in the place you want it to be. Also I see now that everyone seemed to have a problem with the bowl filling halfway. Good: For the price it is huge! I’d say get it if you’re actually gonna fill it up all the way and have the strength to flip it!

Perfect!!

Filling it up will last my lab a full week!! Very easy to clean and fill,... The ONLY down fall is when filling it all the way up it can be awkward to carry it to their feeding place so I suggest holding it with both hands under it and putting your chin on top of the water jug for support until you can get it to where you need. Love it!!

7 animals are happy

Yes, you read that correctly. We have 7 pets: 4 mutt cats and 3 dogs (Cockapoo, Border Collie and Great Pyrenees). They all share the same water bowl. We've tried having multiple bowls but they continue to share one. We've tried multiple sizes of bowls, trying to find the right balance of not having to fill it 6 times each day and it having low enough sides for the cats, especially since one of them is 20 years old. This gravity waterer has solved all those problems! We got the 3 gallon size because...7 pets...including a Great Pyrenees...he's really a horse...or maybe a camel? Whatever. Anyway, this thing is great. We fill it and it literally lasts for 6 solid days! Admittedly, and obviously, it's really heavy and awkward flipping a 3 gallon bottle over onto the base, but it's completely worth the effort. The first few days, our pets were a little skittish of it because it looked different and the water would kind of glug down more every time they drank. It was new for them and they had to learn it wasn't going to attack, lol. Now, this may be one of my favorite purchases ever. It saves us so much time. It also makes it better for our pets if we're gone for several hours because they won't run out of water.

It’s a great waterer but

I appreciate this little water feeder it works great but…I bought this for my ferrets and they instantly knocked it over I thought this would be a wonderful water fountain for them but I think I need something heavier. Will find another use for it tho

Large capacity automatic watering bowl

This bowl is quite large. I am impressed by the amount of water it can hold. It holds more than my lab can drink in several days.

Great water dispenser for my cat.

This very useful water dispenser can be filled with tap water, filtered water, distilled water, or spring water (according to your pet's taste!). It provides water at room temperature - which my cat prefers - but ice cubes can be added to the dispenser if required (don't add them directly to the bowl in case your pet's tongue sticks to the ice cube, or in case it swallows all or part of the ice cube). It makes a gurgling noise when adding more water to the bowl. When this happened the first time, my cat stopped drinking and raised her paw in the air as though she was going to attack the dispenser! But she's OK with it now. Usually, my cat prefers to eat and drink from stainless steel bowls, but now she prefers to drink from this plastic-bowl dispenser, and ignores the metal water dish which is also available.

Will it work?

The media could not be loaded. This is a strange one. I first ordered this in April 2018 and it worked perfectly. I left a 5 star review. It is now August 2021 and the top has broken apart. Ok, fair enough, I’ll order a new one. But the new one doesn’t let water flow out of it at all. It simply doesn’t work! (see video). I have returned for a full refund… waste of my time repackaging, driving to the post office and queuing to drop it off. 1 star. So I have awarded 3 stars as an average.

Good buy

I got this for my cat as I felt he wasn’t getting enough water and I’m only really filling it half way which saves on trips and means he gets a constant flow of water over a few days. I don’t give him wet food so he’s happy to have it and changed over straight away once I had shown him that’s where the water was. I have the dog staying soon so it’ll be good for her too. Really good buy and no issues figuring it out. I would say that longevity may be issue as the bottle slots into a base and I can see that getting some ware and tare

Excellent water dispenser for my small dog.

DELUXE PETMATE CAFÉ WATERIER 2.84 ltr Pearl WHITE My dog had developed a little phobia about drinking from certain bowls. As soon as I filled this she drank from it. She was a bit surprised the first time the bubbles glugged to refill the bowl, but soon got over it. She is a Jack Russell/Corgi mix. Its a nice size and doesn't take up too much floor space. The lid does not screw tight but it doesn't seem to be an issue. The bottle could be a little heavy if you have problems with your hands, if so I would recommend one you get one that you can fill from the top. This one is working perfectly for us and doesn't look as ugly as I thought it would. Wish I had bought it sooner, might get another one to put in the garden for her in the summer. You may want to buy a large bottle brush to clean it.

Easy to fill

I have a dog and a cat. My cat would not drink out of a bowl for several years he would use the kitchen tap but he will drink out of this so no more tap. It's very easy to fill, it just needs a quick rinse out now and again to clean it. The amount of water it holds is great so I only need to fill it once a week considering they both use it.
