Only one problem

We have used these types collars for small puppies many times. I was excited for this one as I thought the color would look great on my dappled mini dachshund, and the bell would help us keep up with a tiny 2 pound dog. Unfortunately, this item did not have the bell attached as pictured. Which defeats the whole purpose of buying it.

Definitely recommend!

I was a bit worried about this collar since people were saying they've had troubles with it falling off, but figured for the price I'd chance it. I took off the bell when it arrived because I don't like bells. And put it on my kitty, Sir Elwood. He's a pretty accepting cat and had no troubles with the collar. The first few weeks he had it, it came off maybe 2-3 times. However since then we've not had any problems with it falling off! I'm satisfied with the purchase and would recommend for kitties that are accepting of collars. If your cat was actively trying to remove this collar, the collar wouldn't stand a chance. Update (1/11/19): My cat is still wearing this collar with ease! No troubles with it falling off randomly. I've actually now gotten a second cat and ordered another one of these collars for my new kitty. She tried to get it off for a bit when she first started wearing it, but didn't get it off. I think she's accepted her fate now and wears it just fine. Update (6/24/20): both cats are still wear the original collars I've purchased. Lady Gwendolyn's is a little worn/fuzzy as she scratches at it. It's probably due to be replaced. I'm able to pull both collars off easily if needed, but Sir Elwood and Lady Gwendolyn wear them just fine. Still no issues with it falling off besides a few times when it was originally purchased. Definitely recommend!!

This collar is absolutely great. I bought it for my cat and have been extremely pleased with it. We took the bell off immediately because it was incredibly annoying with the cat moving around so much but it might fit the bill for another animal that doesn't move around so much. (The bell was very easy to remove and I simply threw the pieces away.) The adjustable strap doesn't move after you pick the size you want which is very nice. One concern I had when purchasing was that this collar is a breakaway style rather than a secure clasp and I was afraid the cat would rip the thing off if it got caught on something or if he got annoyed with it and pulled it off. Luckily the clasp is very secure and takes a good tug to get it off. (READ: The cat can't get the collar off himself but if he got hooked on something the breakaway should work and he won't choke.) I haven't noticed the clasp wearing or getting looser so I am very pleased. The cat has begun to fray the fabric when cleaning himself so the pattern doesn't look great anymore in the area where he licks it but the integrity of the collar has withstood. Overall I would definitely recommend this collar and, should I ever need another, I will be back for another.

This collar's buckle is especially nice!

This collar is well made, soft to the touch, pliable and sturdy. It also came in a size that fit my big cat. It seems very comfortable for him. I also really like this collar because it doesn't have little, sharp plastic ears off the side of the buckle like so many other collars, which I REALLY don't like! I can't speak to the durability yet. Whatever that turns out to be, I will still repurchase this collar again and again. It may be more expensive, but my cat is so worth it!

The bell had to go

The bells are a disaster for my two cats. They HATED them. It freaked them out and they went totally berserk. I thought maybe they were freaking out over the collars themselves but I decided to try and remove the bell and see what they thought. After the bell was removed they were fine. They did seem a bit annoyed with me though. These collars don't break away easily. My cats are both a year old and one of them lost his collar twice and I found it in the patio still together. I was confused on this the first time but I saw it happen the 2nd time. They would wrestle around as usual and one of them would get his claw stuck in the cloth of the collar and they would try to pull away. I saw them struggling and pulling quite hard and the collar didn't break but eventually slipped right off around his head. They don't stay at the size you adjust them too. They will slowly loosen up over time especially if your cats are playing. If you have one cat it might stay on okay. I took both the collars off as my cats. They had them on for a couple weeks and they were already getting very nasty and torn up.

I like it.

I saw where some people were saying that the breakaway portion of this doesn’t break away easily so I was concerned when I first order it but thanks to Amazon‘s return policy I took a chance. I have tested it out and the one I received does break away easily so I know my cat will not be hung up on anything. It is a good value for the price I would just check when you receive it to make sure that it does break away easily As some people are saying it does not. I think it just depends on the production of the batch

Thus far it has stayed on. My cat has never had a collar and she is about a year old and is starting to try and run out the door so I figured a collar would not be a bad idea. I let her sniff it and then I put it on and my cat is a little skitzy meaning she's not a fan of being held only pet... she's loving but any ways! I put the collar on and the bell is going to take some time for her to get used to but other than that she has not tried to get it off! Other than hearing the bell and spinning around she is doing very well with it! This collar seems to be moderately good quality it didn't "break away" easily, but it would if your cat got hung up on something. It was pretty simple packaging and also fairly easy to set. Any ways hope this was helpful!

Nice collar but not for us

Perfectly nice collar, it would be a great choice for another cat. We just brought a 2yo Bengal into our family who's never worn a collar. This was our second try for something she'd tolerate. She just scratches at it constantly. Understandably, it started to look worn. So we're onto the next choice.

Love it but..

Update: it is starting to show damage from him scratching. It’s becoming fuzzy. Definitely not attractive and probably will need to be replaced. I think if your cat is use to wearing a collar it might be ok but definitely not holding up like I first thought. :( I’m very happy with this collar. My cat is an adult neutered male that has never worn a collar until now. He does have claws and scratches at it but it seems to just spin and isn’t effected or damaged. It’s very light weight, stays clipped and colour is great and as advertised!

Great product with useful breakaway

My small kitten is about 2.5 pounds, and this fit it well, and I see the collar being able to keep up with its growth. One issue is that a part of it loops out, as the collar is a bit rigid. With time, it should fit perfectly. The bell is not obtrusive and is loud enough for me to find my kitten in the house, but not loud enough to be an annoyance. It's very easy to remove, so that's an option too at night. [1-2 week Edit]: Since my kitten has grown more active, the collar has become too big and will usually find itself under his arm. Easy removal makes it easy to re-adjust, but beware if your kitten is tiny, it will most likely happen to you too. [~6 months Edit]: This collar is great, still fits my now 5 pound kitten, easily adjustable, most likely to fit every cat and the breakaway is incredibly useful. I use it when I want to not hear it at night and when I had him outside with a leash (did not have a harness yet), it prevented him from getting choked when he jumped off his tree (all supervised). All in all, it's an awesome collar with a decent price.

Durable, useful and easy to put on/remove.

This is the second collar I've bought (different collar). The first one was for my 3 pound-ish, few months old kitten, who's now a year old at 5 pounds. The collar adjusted to his growth extremely well, and even though my kitten gnawed on it, it's still worked great and has no sign of breaking after 10 months, will probably last a few years. So no matter how old your cat is, it should fit (not newborn obviously). I can't comment on if it will fit a huge cat, but it has a large range to adjust. The breakaway is extremely useful and necessary for outdoor cats. In the beginning when you're getting used to having a cat with a bell, it's extremely easy to remove at night and put back on in the morning. I highly suggest this collar :)
