How was this presented? I received this item within unsealed clear plastic bag that measured about 14” x 5½” x 1½” and weighed in at about 4.8 ounces. What was inside? Inside the bag was OXO’s newest Kitchenware Tool in their Good Grips line, a Sheet Pan Scoop. Attached, by straps, was a very stiff cardboard information sheet that measured about 4¼” x 6” and had advertising information, a picture of the scoop, in action, some data about the item and the UPC of 840097706436 and SKU of 11375300. Weight The scoop weighed in at about that previously mentioned 4.8 ounces. Dimensions The scoop had an overall length of about 11¾”, of which the handle comprised about 4½” (was about 1” wide and had their classic rubbery non-slip grip that measured 0.625” thick). Exposed from the grip to the scoop was about a 2½” stainless steel type stem, which was as much as 1” wide, as it went to the scoop. The scoops measured about 5” long and at its widest point, 3.625”, its narrowest point was near the stainless-steel stem, at about 2¾” inches, flaring wider to the end, where food is scooped up and or the pan scraped. The scoop is said to be made of nylon. About the scoop. The scoop is about 3.50mm thick and is as deep as about ( ¾”+) , it has the slightest to non-existent flexibility, so this really can scrape and scoop away at all foods, hot or cold. I use the scoop on my regular cookware and on my non-stick cookware, including glass. The head is made of durable nylon, I am not sure how heat-resistant it might be though, as there is no reference. The handle seems to have good balance against the scooper. I am not sure if this is BPA – free though. Why had I selected this? OXO brand name and the need. [I just finished a lasagna; had a baby in arm, that had to be picked-up, and I wanted to serve my creation while it was hot, so as I was one-hand cutting out servings, to transfer to a dish, using a flat utensil, of course that lasagna slice had to fall off that flat utensil and go splat – what a mess. Baby thought it was funny though. I used this on another lasagna slice, and sure enough, the slice was easy to scoop and stay in the scoop. – I love making lasagna.] This is perfect for use with nonstick cookware. It’s at least as wide but deeper than a spatula, it’s a shovel-shaped tool that offers a quick, safe way to scoop you’re your imagination dreams up, roasted vegetables straight from the pan with minimal mess, chopped food from a cutting board, etc... I appreciate I appreciate this quality made stainless steel OXO kitchen scoop. The scoop looks, feels and is durable, comfortable, sturdy, and lightweight, but with some substance. This is no flimsy utensil. Dishwasher safe This is dishwasher safe, however, I hand wash. If this was manufactured out of stainless-steel, this should resist rust. Biggest criticism It really did not have much information about it, as noted above. It’s a weak five (5) star, it does what I intended to use this for, and it does it nicely. I would select this again I hope my thoughts add information.
