Good chain, lesson learned..

This chain is better than the chain that came on my MS251 Stihl chainsaw. I was a little disappointed in the saw until I installed this chain. I did have one link that decided to lock up instead of riding freely which caused my saw to throw the chain. I have never had this happen before and I have purchased plenty of chains. Amazon allowed me to exchange the chain. I consider this a fluke and would purchase another Oregon chain, though when my saw slung the chain it was a little unsettling, I am glad I decided to inspect the chain after the initial incident.

I burn wood for all my heat and cut every year. After decades I settled on Oregon as being the best chains for my Stihl saw.

chainsaw chain for my Stihl MS 250

My chainsaw was cutting very poorly after extensive use and many sharpenings, so I purchase this chain as a replacement. The new chain worked great on my Stihl MS 250.

Does NOT necessarily fit MS250

Contrary to Oregon's cross-reference chart and several reviews on Amazon.com, this does not necessarily fit the MS250. Turns out some (mine included) uses a 0.050" gauge chain, not the 0.063" that this chain has. This chain is simply to wide to fit into the bar. Unfortunately, I didn't check until after the return date, so I'm stuck with a chain I can't use. Very disappointed.
