Beautiful

The media could not be loaded. I just got this today. Its elegant and chip proof, dishwasher safe and microwave safe per Mikasa so I have yet to confirm. I just returned another set I had ordered from another company and was very dissapointed.

L O V E this beautiful set!

My favorite part about this set is the plates with the lip (almost like a very large, shallow bowl)... it's perfect for all those saucy, juicy meals and it doesn't run off the side! My kids and my hubby love it. These are a bit delicate so you have to be careful handling them. I wash mine in the dishwasher and they do just fine.

Versatile Set of Dinnerware

This set of dinnerware is fun to use. It dresses up a plain table because of the creative shapes of the bowls and plates with their higher edges. The flat plates are a bit unevenly wavy, too. I have used them quite often over the course of months, and they show no wear and tear. However, they become much too hot to hold after using in the microwave.

Very fancy; pasta bowls don't fit well in dishwasher

These dishes are pretty fancy-looking—a little too fancy-looking for my family’s day-to-day meals, perhaps. I pull one out to warm leftovers in the microwave, and I think, don’t I have something more average? But really, you can’t criticize something for being too nice. The 11-inch plates and the 6-inch plates seem very large in diameter, and that contributes to the fancy look. The pasta bowls are nice, but their tall, squared-off rims make them hard to fit in between the tines of our Bosch dishwasher. You don’t get cups with this set, which is actually a plus for me, because I have plenty of cups and mugs. Thus far, after several weeks, none of the dishes has chipped, which was a problem with our old dishes. These dishes are perfect for a dinner party. On the other hand, if it’s a party of one, then maybe you should keep some of your old Corelle dishes on hand for those leftovers.

Buy these if your food usually falls off your plate.

PROS: - Very beautiful, high quality bone china. - The raised edges on these plates are great for pasta. I can cover my spaghetti with grated parmigianno reggiano cheese and then twirl my fork and lift a forkful to my mouth without spilling any sauce on the table. CONS: - I didn't notice that they are chip resistant because one of my bowls broke into multiple pieces from a height of 18 inches. - It's a high pricepoint; approx. 9 dollars per dish.
