Thick Socks

These socks are definitely thick but they’re also comfortable and cozy! They run true-to-size and so far they haven’t shrunk in the dryer.

Absolutely not true to size. I'm beginning to think that Merrell socks always run very small

After three fails, one OK pair, and now these (also fails), I have been cured of my desire to ever try any more Merrell socks. This pair is one of several different styles of crew length Merrell socks I've recently ordered that are so small and uncomfortable, I will never wear them. They fit like I accidentally bought youth size socks, but I didn't. I bought the unisex S/M. I wear an 8 1/2 women's shoe and I have narrow feet and a very narrow heel. If I pull really hard, I can get the heel of the socks over my heel. When I do that, they squash my feet like compression socks. I have muscular calves. When I pulled them up, I looked like I had fat rolls over the top of the socks. That's how tight they are. Going on my own personal experience, I could, with total honesty, rate these 3 stars. I am on the smaller side of an 8 1/2 women's shoe. If they were true to size as claimed, they would at least fit my feet, if not my calves. However, I decided to rate them 4 stars because if you are a lot smaller than I am, they're probably very nice socks. They're thick and cushiony and seem like they would be warm.

Very comfortable, wish the top was looser

These socks are so soft inside and really cushioned. They are very comfortable to walk in. The socks are also really warm. They're perfect for around the house or hiking/walking. As others reviewers mentioned, I did find the top elastic to be quite tight. After a short period of wearing them they leave marks on my leg where they have cut in to my leg. It's a little better if I bunch them down by my ankle, but that defeats the purpose of buying crew socks. I love them otherwise, so I wish the top was just a little larger.

Small

I wasn't sure which size to go with, but these small/medium mens/womens socks only fit my 13 year old daughter. They're thick and high quality for sure, just bummed they're so small.

Warm and comfortable without being bulky.

For the most part I really like these socks. They are warm, comfortable, and snuggly without being overly bulky causing your shoes to fit too tightly when you’re wearing them. I did find, in my case anyway, that the portion from the toe to the heel was a little large for my feet. I also found that the band was a little tight around my legs. Neither one of these things would prevent me from getting another pair.

Wonderully soft and warm

My only issue is how tight they are around your ankle. I am not heavy (5'3" 125 lbs) and these are so snug they left a mark on my skin after only 10 minutes. So...not recommended if you have circulation issues or very thick ankles. This is a common problem with socks. But they are beautiful and I hope they are not too tight when I actually use them.
