Better than Expected

I got these for mountain biking but they’re nice and thin and the compression is very comfortable. I ended up using them for hockey as well and felt even better than expected. So great I bought another pair. These instantly replaced my RBK and UA compression hockey and riding socks. Get a pair or two! Btw they’re long, they’re high enough to show all these foos that you’re down too. LAIC

Comfortable Socks

Lightweight and light compression; good quality

Although these Merrell compression socks are marketed as "Hiker" socks, I wear these type of socks because my feet and lower legs tend to fatigue easier as I age. Compression socks help my legs and feet feel better when taking longer walks or standing on my feet for long periods of time. I wear a women's size 6 shoe and ordered the black/pink socks in the small/medium size. They fit my foot well with only a tiny bit of fabric bunching that made no difference in performance. I have worn the socks when standing on my feet for long periods, and they definitely keep my legs and feet more comfortable. The compression on these is lighter than some other brands that I have, but they work well for my needs. I washed them on cold before wearing and let them air dry - there was no shrinkage noted. My feet can sometimes sweat in certain materials, but these socks kept my feet dry all day. For lighter duty activities or someone who prefers lighter compression socks, these would be a good choice. Recommend.

Nice compression socks, a little large

I like the way they fit and feel. Compression is good, not overly tight. I had a little room left in the toe area but it didn't bother me. I wear a 6.5 woman's. When I put them on they went up over my calves but they did slip a little when I was walking briskly and ended up mid-calf. I had added a little footie sock for outside walking because, as is normal for compression socks, they are thinner than the thick socks I usually wear. I do like them but am more apt to use as recovery socks vs during exercising.

Nice Compression

As I get older, running becomes a bit more uncomfortable, mainly in the form of shin splints. Therefore, on every run, which is about three times a week, I have had to wear compression socks. These are definitely a nice option. They are lightweight (I still have to wear socks over them due to bigger fitting shoes), but the amount of compression is just right. These aren't as tall as other brands that I prefer that go all the way up to the knee, but they do fit over the calf, so you can actually wear them with shorts without looking too ridiculous. Good quality, fast drying.

Good quality but shrinks after drying

Very good quality for the winter time. It is very warm and nice design. However, it shrinks a little bit after drying.

Lightweight, well made, comfy.

Merrell's Over-the-Calf socks are made from soft, stretchy, and fairly thin fabric. The socks are nicely finished and have no loose threads. In a size M/L they fit me perfectly as someone who wears a size 10.5 shoe. They are comfortable, soft, and come all the way up my calves with length to spare. They are tight and supportive, don't shift or slide down my calves, and breathe well. These are not thick wool socks meant for super cold weather, they are more of an early spring, late fall sock. They wished nicely using cold water and dried on low heat. All in all... great socks.
