Combine this with a vacuum feature & it'd be 6 stars
Read a lot of reviews when deciding between this and the similar Wagner item. Ultimately got this one because it was available as a Warehouse Deal for under $95. For me it's probably really a 4.5 star item. I'd give it 6 stars if it had a strong vacuum feature built in to pull up the dirty liquid. Many people knock this device for unfair reasons. #1 bad rap is water coming out of the nozzle instead of steam. Come on people, use your brains! Steam is vaporized water. If you run steam through a few feet of cool tubing it's going to condense into water. There are ways to work around this. Use it continuously rather than brief spurts which reduces the water and makes the steam hotter or use a pail, directing the first few seconds into the pail until the water is gone. Also, once the steam hits something cool it will condense into water so be ready to wipe. BTW, that brings up another gripe that people mention. Continuous use will cause the nozzle and trigger parts to get pretty warm. Not really much of an issue. Others gripe that the steam isn't hot enough. It's a matter of opinion, I guess, but there are some realities involved. Your wall outlets will only support about 1800 watts so a machine like this can only heat so much water to turn it into steam. To get it hotter would mean less steam production or you'd have to plug it into a 240v outlet and many people don't have that. Continuous use does a lot for upping the steam temperature. If the steam were much hotter, you'd be reading complaints about melted and deformed plastics. I think this machine strikes the appropriate balance. One legitimate gripe is the flimsy plastic construction. Has plastic gotten so expensive that making the parts 50% thicker would add that much to the cost? I accept the device for what it is. A tool that most people will only be using occasionally. There are better, more sturdy devices for people who'll use this frequently. I've had it a couple of weeks and tried it on various things. Windows: works pretty good but a little messy. I used a chamois to clean up the water drips. Really great with a spray bottle of strong cleaner to clean your vinyl window casings, seals and felt scrapers. Again, chamois with a bucket of clean water gives best results. Walls: works pretty good to clean cooking oils and cigarette smoke film from glossy paints. This pretty much dissolves cigarette smoke film on anything from paint to plastics to metal or glass. Vinyl Mini Blinds: Oh, such a pain to clean with anything. I sprayed them with some strong cleaner, gave it a minuet or two and they came out pretty darn good. I think removal and cleaning in the bathtub might make the job less messy and would make rinsing easier. Microwave: I get mine pretty clean with a scrubber sponge and normal dish soap but finishing off with steam is the icing on the cake. Gets the nooks and crannies, corners and grills. Touchpad looked new and the rest of the oven was darn close. Upholstery: May get certain stains loosened up but this is really no substitute for a suction type upholstery cleaner and soap. I wasn't too impressed. Sink and Countertop: I have very hard water and my issues are more with calcium deposits than grime. This did nothing for water deposits. Leather Jacket: Used steam as a first step in a re-dye. Worked OK but not a big advantage over saddle soap and a brush. Took about 90 minutes to do a really good job. Coffee Maker: Didn't do much better than dishwasher plus soap and a sponge. Deep Fryer: Thought this would do a really good job but it was no better than using a strong degreaser and scrubber sponge with hot water from the sink. Slow and messy. Included scrubber pad clogged quickly and wore fast. Stove and Toaster Oven: Fine for hard to get to edges of the glass top on the stove but don't think this is your ticket for removing burnt-on food. Other random observations- The little brushes suck. they're too stiff when you start and too soft after a few minutes of use. The scrubber was unimpressive too. All these things wore down quickly and you're better off using a scrubber or brush that suits your need and use the steam to assist the scrubbing process. The window squeegee worked fine but sopping up the water is a pain. Much quicker than Windex and paper towels. Zero streaks. Did not use the mop attachment. Having no water gauge is lame. You don't know when your going to need to add water and then you don't know how much to add when it's not empty. The wheels seem mostly useless. I pick it up and move it. Overall I'm very happy with my little steam cleaner and I haven't even used it for the 2 things I bought it for, removing wallpaper and detailing car interiors. Unless you have a specific thing that you need a steam machine for (like wallpaper or bedbugs) you should think of this as another tool in your cleaning arsenal. It probably won't replace anything else you have now, it'll just help you to do a better job. Sometimes it'll save you time. Sometimes it'll save you work. For the most part, it's not going to save you a lot in cleaning chemicals. You'll mostly still use those. I understand these are really great with the hard plastics in a used car. I can see this as a great tool for cleaning a refrigerator. Not sure about the germ cleaning capabilities, I have my doubts about using this, alone, to mop a floor when your goal is killing germs. A bucket of very hot water and mop solution is probably more effective. All said, I definitely would buy it again and recommend it to friends.

Cleaning Was Never So Much Fun
This is my first steamer, so I didn't know what to expect. It's been two weeks now and overall I think it's a good value. It's fabulous for cleaning any corners, small cracks and intricate items like around faucets, refrigerator handles and the coil behind the refrigerator. It did a really good job on the impossible to clean area under the front of the refrigerator that had caked-on dust and dried spills covering all the metal brackets, wires, tubes and wheels. But best of all - the toilet, especially the hinges for the toilet seat, and the seam where the toilet meets the floor, and anywhere behind the toilet - you get the idea. The combination of the heat and the powerful blast of the steam acts to soften the dirt and then force it out to where you just wipe it up. You get a nice, really clean surface. Some items haven't been this clean since they were new. Some even look like new. Do yourself a very big favor and get a whole bunch of microfiber cloths for wiping and drying. Sometimes, for stubborn old dirt, first spray a little Fantastic cleaner, then use the steamer and wipe with the microfiber cloths. This makes a super dynamite cleaning combination. You can also use your own microfiber cloths with the floor attachment. The steam leaves a clean smell and I don't have to worry about breathing any of it. It's good that most of the steam ends up in the air, so that there is not a lot of residual water that needs to be cleaned up. After not spraying for a while, some steam in the hose condenses back to a little bit of water, so then I usually spray for a second or two into the sink or a cloth to clear the water. There is some confusion about the so-called ready light. Just know that it's a small light that turns on whenever the water heater is on. So when the light turns off, it means that the heater has reached the high temperature shutoff point. I notice a slight increase in the steam pressure just after the heater light turns off because this is when the water is the hottest. But the steam pressure is very good all the time, even if you have a long steaming session. The heater light automatically turns on and off while you steam, and you don't even notice it. I usually steam, then wipe, steam, then wipe, and never have to wait for more steam. There is also some confusion regarding the steam temperature. I was surprised that this big cloud of steam is actually not too hot to your hand, even as close as 3 or 4 inches from the tip. I think it's because the steam quickly cools itself by the evaporative process. This is good because you really don't need to worry so much about burning your hand, like when you are holding an object in one hand and spraying steam with the other. But don't be fooled. The temperature right at the tip is hot. I measured about 170 to 180 degrees right where the steam comes out. Most home water heaters are set for only about 120 to 140 degrees. If you steam a small metal object (that conducts heat), it will quickly become too hot to handle. I've accidentally peeled a little spot of latex paint off a door because I held it on the same spot a little too long. I always use rubber gloves and have had no problem with handling the steam. Regarding the noise, firstly, the unit makes no sound at all when you are not spraying steam. When it sprays steam, the noise comes from the tip where the steam comes out. I can understand that many people say it is loud. To me, it means that this is a pretty powerful spray of steam. After I do steaming for an hour or two, without earplugs, then my ears feel a little bit like I've attended a rock concert, especially if I were steaming a bathroom or inside the refrigerator, which magnifies the sound. Now, I always wear ear plugs. The unit has a carrying handle, but no caddy for the attachments, cord and hose - not a big problem for me. I use only distilled water, as they suggest, so the tank doesn't become clogged with mineral deposits. I put in two or three of their measuring cups with their little funnel and it lasts a good long time, like you wonder why the steam hasn't run out yet. I always keep an extra couple of gallons of water on hand because I have a tendency to keep cleaning more stuff once I get started. The steam keeps going strong until the tank is totally empty, and then it suddenly stops. Refilling is pretty quick and easy, but first hold the sprayer open to release any remaining pressure. You only need to tighten the filler cap with light fingertip pressure. It takes a few minutes (2 to 5 minutes depending on how much water you add) for the water to reheat and then you can steam for another long time. One of the few things it doesn't do so well is the hard baked-on food like inside the oven or the stove top. Also, when I was steaming the metal handles on dark wood kitchen cabinets, I noticed the wood starting to take on a light, cloudy haze. It seemed ok after rewaxing, but you need to be careful around wood furniture or cabinets. I've read some complaints about the small brush tips wearing out too quickly. I think this might be because people are mashing down too hard on the tip. The idea is to try to let the steam do the work and brush with only moderate pressure. Sometimes I use a toothpick to loosen stubborn dirt in small areas, and then go back with the steamer. I think the tips are holding up ok. One precaution I take is to avoid pulling the tank by the hose because I think this could break the hose which does not seem to be repairable.

not fit for the UK
This machine electric specifications were not fit for this country it needs 120 volts not supplied in this country. It also needs 1500 wat our supply can't cope so I had to buy a transformer to fit this specification. which was not cheap (mine cost around £70). The delivery delays were appalling they kept shifting the dates and one of the texts said that the order has been lost and whether I should get my money back then it came after 2 days. Any way the machine arrived and it was fantastic in every way. So here are my advice fellow citizens of the UK if you are willing to pay extra for a transformer and wait a long time for delivery, but get a powerful machine then go ahead. i

Great product!
Great machine. Love how long it last and how it is versatile to clean bathrooms and clean floors. The other things I do not like are... There is no place to wrap up the cord when your done! I hate that I have this long cord and no spot to wrap it up on. I dont like that after long use the handle gets hot Those brushes they give you give of to clean (forget what they call them), they give you so many because after one good scrub around your house with them they are garbage. Dont last long at all. I wish there was a safety button that would stop it from coming on for small children. None the less, if your looking for a steamer for general cleaning I think anyone would love this machine. It has power, stays hot and cleans floors and I even use the floor cleaner on my walls for little kids finger prints! Great buy!

It's getting hot in here!
I initially wrote a review and gave this steamer 3 stars. I found it wasn't getting hot ( I could keep my hand under the steam without it hurting). Turns out I was using it wrong! They give you a measuring cup and funnel to fill the tank. Do not over fill it! I was over filling the tank ( it is a huge tank). I tried the steamer again, this time I only filled the measuring cup as directed. Guess what! It works amazing. I was steaming my floor and it hurt to step on an area that was steamed minutes prior it was still that hot! It doesn't take long to heat up if you fill the tank correct and it really does last the amount of time estimated. It comes with lots of attachments for literally any job you could think of. Now that I'm using it correct the only negative I find is that there is no where to wrap the cord. This is so minor and I'm amazed at how well it worked second time around I gave 5 stars. Some things I've learnt through trial and error: -Only fill the amount recommend - if it's spitting water, you overfilled it -when the light turns off/on you can still use it (I thought it meant it was re heating. That is wrong) -dont let the steam hit you -let it cool for 10 mins before re filling (take cap off slowly to let air leak out) If I figure anything else out I will edit my review. All in all I am really impressed!

Love it. Works like a dream
I'm disabled and using the mop head to steam clean my walls and ceiling. Makes the job super quick and easy. Its light weight and easy to handle. Id love to see a smaller mop head to get into some smaller spaces

I loved but...
I really liked it. I cleaned my windows tracks, unreachable gaps, and baseboards around the house very well. I also used as a mop, cleaned my kitchen, bathroom, and steamed my mattress (with the window accessory). For me, it is a great product and I would buy it again. I don't know how long it last because I just have it for a short period. I would recommend it for unreachable areas, to sanitize, and steam whatever you want, but if you are planning cleaning your grease oven or whatever a mop or a brush can reach I wouldn't buy it.
