Outstanding Performance...for a year.

An outstanding product! The motion sensor detects over 20 feet, more like 30! The light is extremely bright and has no trouble illuminating my entire front yard. The only detail that is not accurate is that the light's batteries need to be changed about every month even with the time set on low. The product is advertised as lasting around 3 to 6 months. I was using duracell quantum batteries. I since switched to tenergy 5 ah rechargeable batteries, which last almost as long as the duracell quantums, about a month. An amazing product and I highly recommend this product to anyone in need of extra light. I use the light as a substitute for my broken porch light. Couldn't be happier with it! It is a suitable substitute in all respects to a standard hundred twenty volt porch light. UPDATE! November 1st, 2016 It has been over a year since I purchased this light, and it has been great until recently. Lately the motion sensor has been failing to work properly resulting in the light not turning on despite having fresh batteries and me in the pitch black of night waving my arms, jumping around, and walking toward and away from the light. Is it a defect? Possibly. Planned obsolescence? Also probable. Long story short, look to pay 40 dollars every year and a half to maintain a working motion light. I would be willing to pay more for a light that lasted longer than a year.

It works.

This light works pretty nicely. I installed it in my 12x10 shed. There is enough light to see everything inside the shed but it may not be enough for a larger area. I have noticed that the motion sensor is not that sensitive. There is a switch for AUTO and OFF. When it's switched to AUTO, the motion sensor detects movement and turns the light on for 30 seconds and then the light shuts off. You would have to move again for the light to come on again but the sensor is not that sensitive so you may have to wave your arms wildly to make the light go on again and the neighbors may think you've lost your mind. I think the switch should be ON-AUTO-OFF so if you planned on needing the light for 5 minutes, it would just stay on until you switched it back to AUTO or OFF. I realize some people may install the light out of reach so I'm just spitballing. It does work well and is doing what I need.

A good wireless lighting solution

I installed of these units outside my backdoor. It's survived one rain shower so far, so that's a good sign. It's hard to say how weather proof and rugged these really are, but I do feel the whole fixture is on the flimsy feeling side. A previous reviewer that claimed the light heads can't be adjusted is wrong. They can be independently moved up/down and left/right. I do think the design is awkward though. These lights are pretty bright for a battery powered unit. They are slightly brighter than a Mr. Beams unit to my eyes. I find the adjustments to be pretty sensitive and useful. I believe the manufacturers claims about motion detection range to be accurate. I wish this unit used "D" cell batteries rather than "C" cells. I literally have no other devices in my house that run on "C" cell batteries. Time will tell how well this unit holds up.

Works OK.

Works OK. The one I have in my 10x10 shed works best as it turns on as soon as I open the door and I'm close enough to trigger it back on if it turns off. I also have one in my 2 car garage which doesn't work so well. Wish I could set it to stay on for much longer times as when I'm on the other side of the garage it will go off and I have to walk all the way back around the cars to get it to trigger again.

Works well, but not a strap if you want it on a tree.

Got this as a gift for my father for Christmas. He walks to his truck in the dark currently when leaving and coming home from work and this gave him some light to see with ease. He had to get some additional straps to strap it to the tree without damaging it or the tree though.

Perfect for a dark back yard

I got these for my parents new house where the back yard is completely dark and she was worried about letting the dog out at night. There are some coyotes in the area and we wanted to know it was safe before she opened the door and this light was the perfect solution! The back yard went from a black hole to daylight in a snap! I want to get another one for my backyard! They feel so much safer and better about letting the dog out and knowing if anyone is snooping around. Was super easy installation and only needs 3 C batteries that are going to last over a year with regular use. Better than solar because it is battery operated and it will work all year around!

Excellent battery powered motion light

This product works wonderfully. For my application I had to turn the sensitivity to very near max but it's doing exactly what I want. My biggest complaint so far is that it is very difficult to get the batteries to stay in while trying to get the back on. There is not quite enough space for the batteries and the spring and the spring on the center battery got distorted and gnarly.

definitely not bright enough to use as main outdoor lighting if you are looking for security. The sensitivity settings aren't very good either. I actually put one of 3 I purchase inside my garage and it still has problems sensing my entering the that area. I suggest using it only directly over a door or something -- very limited applications.
