Not impressed with these particular lenses
After spending hours looking at various Maui Jim sunglasses and watching product reviews I finally settled on the Red Sands with Blue Hawaii Lenses. When I got them I really wanted to love them, but I just couldn't, due to the lenses. First the outer part of the lenses were much more purple than blue under most lighting conditions. Then they weren't as opaque as I was expecting. You could almost always see at least the outline of my eyes while I was wearing the lenses. I really wasn't blown away with the clarity while wearing the lenses - maybe it has to do with the fact that they are polycarbonate rather than glass (my primary sunglasses for the past decade have been Ray-Ban Wayfarers with glass polarized lenses). I could definitely notice a slight warp. But the final straw was the the "2-tone" tint when looking though the lenses. Looking straight provided the expected neutral grey color. But all the peripherals were a green tint. This would really threw me off when moving my head and looking around. This was my first pair of Maui Jims, so maybe I just got super unlucky and it was a defective pair (the box they came in appeared to have been been resealed, so there is always the very slight chance that someone swapped the real pair for a knockoff, but the frames felt authentic, so I don't think that was the case). I've been dead-set on getting a pair of Maui Jims, based on everything else I have read about them, so ultimately I returned these and purchased a pair of used Tail Slides with Blue Hawaii Super Thin Glass lenses on Poshmark, and am EXTREMELY happy with them - the lenses are 100% blue, 100% opaque, and 100% grey when looking through them at all angles. So ultimately I may have just not been a fan of polycarbonate lenses (even if they are supposed to be the "premier" version of polycarbonate). But I am quickly becoming a fan of Maui Jim.

These are great
Had to get rid of my D&G glasses after 5 years due to scratching. These look pretty good too, though much lighter and best of all they actually stay in place where as my others constantly slid down my face due to the material. I also like that things don’t really get super dark when I wear these. Not like other sunglasses I’ve had. I can see pretty well. And again, they don’t fly off in my jeep when I have the windows down. So I’m happy with these for the next 5 years.

Best glassis I've ever found for my giant head
These glasses are perfect for a giant head (size 8, which translates to a XXXXL). As such, they do not look as good on a small head. Makes people look like they are children wearing their parents sunglasses. But, for larger faces they look fantastic and feel amazing. Lens quality is excellent, clarity is fantastic. They seem really durable and are very scratch resistant. One other thing, I like to wear the Deep Woods bug spray (100% deet) and that stuff is CAUSTIC. Makes my lips go numb. It's freaking awesome. Anyway, I've had it eat through camera backs, cell phone cases, hats and a ton of cheap sunglasses. Literally melted the stem off one of them. However, these glasses seem to handle it fine. The rubber doesn't melt and the plastic doesn't die. I know that doesn't matter to most people, but it does speak to the quality of their materials. It will definitely hold up to sweat and the toll of time. Overall, excellent glasses.

Phenomenal Pair of Sunglasses
Initially I was a little apprehensive to order these based on previous reviews of these being counterfeits. I'm happy to report that these are indeed actual Maui Jim sunglasses. Included in the box are the sunglasses, case, and microfiber cleaning cloth. These are perfect for those with a bigger head, as an example I wear a size 7 1/2 cap and these fit great. And since I mentioned cap, these fit very good with a cap on. They are without a doubt the lightest pair of glasses I've every tried on and they do a good job of filtering out sunlight with polarized lenses. I highly recommend this product.

Well-designed and built. Good quality!
I've always been meant to avoid buying from a brand under Luxottica. So I have had 2 pairs from Warby Parker, and this is my first Maui Jim. The sunglasses are really well done. The frame feels sturdy. And the lens are polarized. The pads have a rubber layer, plus the inner of the lags also has a stripe of runner, so it doesn't slide easily. It also fit my large face well. I love it! I haven't dropped the glasses so I can't say to how durable the lenses are, though other reviews do mention they can be scratched.

The absolute best customer service of any company. They are fantastic.
First off--you get a person when you call;;;what? Off the charts friendly and helpful. I had a minor lens issue which they took care of in less than a day. The tech sent me an email letting me know they were fixed and on their way back to me. this is all within 1 week including shipping both ways. Their sunglasses are very high quality and they do customer service the way it is supposed to be done. No whining, no BS, no delays. Don't ever hesitate to buy any of their products.

So far so good. The fit is great. Very light. My only concern is they seems very flimsy. For $230 I was expecting something a little more solid. Also the case that comes with these is very cheap. Time will tell. Overall I would recommend.

Expensive but worth it.
These are completely effortless to use. With many lesser sunglasses, one is conscious of looking through a veil of some sort. With these, vision feels completely unobstructed. Were it not for the frame touching the nose and ears, one would be unaware of wearing anything on the face. Unlike many other sunglasses, the colour balance of the field of view is very close to natural. Just the intensity of light is altered. This is my second pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. It may seem extravagant to own two such expensive pairs, but my experience with the first has made me a devotee. My first pair is a different model. I bought it because it had the best light-reducing effect of any I have tried, and is ideal for driving my roadster on sunny days. My new pair is to be used driving a closed car, and for walking and hiking. What made me think so highly of this brand, in addition to the superb optical qualities, is that I broke the first pair. It was my fault, but Maui Jim exchanged the broken pair for an identical brand new one for around $50. I have owned other brands of expensive brand name sunglasses which have failed because of poor materials. They cannot be repaired, and no offer of replacement except at full retail price is available. The initial price of Maui Jim products may be high, but long-term cost of ownership is reasonable, and the optical performance is, in my opinion, second to none. They also look good without being trendy or garish.
