Damaged product - cut at the seam

Unfortunately, I set aside the valence for over a month - we made upgrades to the room where this valence was to be placed above the window then there was a family emergency that required us to travel out of town. My husband just finished installing the curtain rod and was about to put this valence on it when he discovered seam was not sewn together in one area - it looks like it was cut along the seam or there was not enough material to tuck inside and sew together. I missed the window to return this so I will sew it together at the gap and make the best of it. I recommend opening the package and check your product when it arrives even if you will not install it within the 30 days before the return window closes. I do like the fabric, color, and the fact that it's washable.
