Killer jacket

I'm not a outdoor gear geek or a jacket shopper, so I don't have much to compare this to, but I can say that Marmot's Precip surpassed my expectations. I just needed something light to keep the rain off and that would fold up into a tiny ball in my day-to-day carry bag. Wirecutter recommended this jacket, so I followed their rec and also took into account some of the glowing reviews and ordered it. The slate gray medium I received exactly matched the size and color as shown here and did everything it was supposed to do. Little details like the perfectly color-matched velcro, the hood sizer behind the head, the soft fabric collar at the top of the zipper are awesome. I'm 5'6 135lbs (girl) and I ordered the medium mens size...which is the way I wanted it. A small would probably be a perfectly sized fit, but I wanted it a little longer and looser. This is great quality stuff and worth every penny. It feels like it will last 100 years.

Packable, Functional, Affordable

I love this jacket. It goes with me on hikes when I don't expect to need a rain jacket. The price is just right for something so light and packable that it is subject to snagging on rocks or twigs and tearing. I expect low durability with a super-light jacket, so I don't like to spend a fortune on it. When my last one tore, I got this as a replacement right away. This version of the Precip is incredibly breathable and incredibly effective at the same time. I overheat in other rain jackets, but not this one. And yet I've worn it in rain, snow, and at 13,000 feet in blizzard winds so hard that I was standing at a 45-degree angle just to avoid falling down.

Producto no recomendado

La chaqueta Cumple con su función de impermeabilidad y comodidad por menos de un año, ya que no todo las temporadas son de invierno, pasado este tiempo, la capa impermeable se adelgaza y empieza a filtrarse el agua. Dejando de ser funcional pues deja de ser impermeable. Por eso no recomiendo este producto.

Fairly comfortable, waterproof rain shell

I wish it fit slightly closer through the torso, just to look a little more attractive, but having the roll-away hood gives it a stylistic edge over other rain shells with hoods that are always visible. It definitely seems waterproof and as breathable as a synthetic shell probably can be, which means it gets a bit uncomfortable in very warm and muggy weather, but it's better than some other shells I've worn in the past. I'll be taking it to England this Fall and will update once I've worn it in cooler and rainier weather.

Runs a little small

I’m 6’0”, 178lbs and my current Marmot rain jacket is a medium and still fits well, but no longer keeping me dry after almost 10 years. Ordered a new Pre-Cip in medium, and it’s a little tight so I’m going to order another one in large size and give the medium to my son.

Commuter Must Have...until I find a better product.

I highly recommend this product. The pit zips are definitely help full during my 6 mile bike commute on a single speed bicycle up hill. I used this during a torrential down our and the hood is adjustable enough to fit over a bicycle helmet. I stayed dry, the build up of sweat was not as bad as other products I've used, believe me. I've tried 5 jackets in the past. They either leak on the outside or don't breath enough that you'll be soaked from the inside. This is a good blend of material and the pit zips help with cooling down,

Gets the job done

It's basically a shell. There are vents under the arms which is helpful because the jacket doesn't breath otherwise. I wish the vents were closed with a mesh instead it's just a giant opening under the arms. Otherwise, it gets the job done!

Perfect for traveling!

This is perfect for traveling. I have used it many times on trips since I've purchased it. It's lightweight and works great. If you're in the market for a rain coat for traveling / sight seeing, buy this one. It packs well. You can fold it into the size of a small t-shirt.

Prodotto eccellente

Giacca 4 stagioni eccellente ad un prezzo più che concorrenziale. Attenzione alla taglia perché veste grande. Io di solito vesto M ed in questo caso ho preso una S. La giacca è impermeabile ed abbastanza traspirante. Può essere indossata sia d'estate con una T-shirt sia in inverno come guscio sopra un piumino o un pile. A patto di prenderla in colori non troppo vistosi va benissimo anche con un abito classico in caso di pioggia o vento.
