Works for our minimal needs.

When it came time to installing a keyless entry, we had two requirements. 1) we did want a keyed option and 2) we didn't want some fancy-schmancy "smart" lock with wifi and phone apps and blah blah blah. This unit fits the bill perfectly. Easy to install and to set codes. And thanks to Kwikset's SmartKey it was easy to re-key to the other doors on our house (we only wanted keyless on the main entrance. It's been about two months now and so far it has worked well. Even if the batteries or minimal electronics fail, we've got our backup key well hidden and inside a lock box, so we can still get in without a hassle.

Where have you been my whole life?!

I can’t believe I waited so many years to try out one of these electronic locks. Specifically, this lock looks very nice and feels high-quality. If you’re replacing an existing lock of the same brand, it is such a simple installation you’ll kick yourself for waiting. If I were to do the whole process on a second lock, where I wouldn’t have to read the instructions, it would take me less than five minutes to install it. It’s easy to program as long as you realize the check mark in the instruction seems to actually hit the checkmark on the keypad. One of the best features is the ability to key the lock to an existing key. So, for example, I didn’t have to involve the landlord, I simply installed the new lock, used the smart key to re-key to the existing old keys. The landlord can still get in and I don’t have to make new keys. Of course if didn’t want to use the old key, you can use the keys that came with it. I would definitely recommend this lock and will be buying a second lock for my other property. No more worries about getting guests coming into town, a key, if I’m not at the house when they arrive.

Perfect

This is perfect! I did have a locksmith install this for me, but it took him less than 10 minutes. I love the fact I don't need a key, although it still works with the key. No need to make copies of spare keys for family or friends, and no more lost keys. It's perfect and am very happy I had it installed.

Defintely a 5 Star Lock

I had previously bought Kwiksets new finger print touch lock. But that lock was absolutely miserable so I decided to go back a generation to the touchpad technology and wow is it great. Super easy to install and program. Has been working reliably every day and I love this lock.

Excellent!

This is super easy to install! I'm not a "handy" person by any stretch of the imagination, but I alone accomplished the task and my teenager was even impressed! It's solid, looks great and I'm buying a second one for my back door, that's how much I like this Keypad deadbolt. Highly recommend.

Great lock!

I don't normally leave reviews but thought I should share my opinion. If you are looking for a reasonable priced modern looking smart lock without all the bells and whistles like bluetooth and wifi, this is the perfect lock. It was easy to install, easy to program and is working great at the end of day 1 of installation.

Great lock

Kwikset has always been a quality lockset. This unit is no different. The instructions are pretty easy to follow. It is a good look and matched the existing nickel finish of my door handle. Also I took advantage of the key reset so I would only need one key for the door. This is also my second Kwikset key pad and believe they are secured lock assurance.

It's a good electronic deadbolt. The factory reset instructions are different than other Kwiksets.

I like Kwikset electronic deadbolts because of their simple installation, their sturdy cylinder tailpieces and the SmartKey rekeying feature. What I don't like is that this model does not factory reset in the same way as other similar Kwikset models. It seems as if each Kwikset deadbolt resets using a different method. Please, Kwikset...can we standardize this?
