Good price but missing flange for shower arm

A nice upgrade to my older style Coralais (sterling valve) shower setup

Had to buy a (newly released) valve "retrofit kit" directly from Kohler to make this work with my older Kohler Coralais setup. How i diagnosed what I needed was to remove shower valve faceplate, identify what type of mixer valve I had, then look behind wall and identify the style of brass body I had (how many flanges and what configuration), then determined via Kohler parts drawings if I had a Pressure Valve unit (essentially the type of valve/valve body that has the black plastic two hole Pressure Balancing valve insert). Once I determined I had the Pressure Balancing Kohler type valve unit, I could then order the Retrofit Kit which converted the mixing valve to the newer Kohler "rite-temp" mixer valve. Note: Not just any rite temp will work, you need the specific retro fit kit bust best to call or write Kohler to confirm exactly what you need. There were some hiccups in the install which made it not as simple as I had hoped like trying to install the chrome plastic sleeve between handle a wall plate being too long after I installed my retrofit mixing valve. I had to trim sleeve with a dremel and sand off part of the base of the retrofit mixing valve black plastic body where it seats to slide chrome plastic sleeve full on so it wouldn't show valve underneath once installed. I almost cut chrome plastic sleeve too short so be careful ... it takes a few test fits and its not obvious how it works. So while it all worked, it was not as plug and play as I had hoped. Sorta depends upon your particular install but it does work... just takes some fiddling. I also installed new mixing valve what i thought was the indicated right way up but hot came on first so had to pull apart and turn valve over so stop tab on mixing valve was facing up. Then had to test water temp and make adjustment to orange stopper tab on mixing valve. All this "retrofit" stuff may not be necessary for you if you don't have an old style valve. Otherwise this kit is nice.. not ultra high quality but not bad - sorta your average updated look for your shower. Also, before ordering, you will need to determine if you have the slide on (no threads) or threaded type of water spout as there are two different ones.
